Chutneys is the most convenient indian takeaway for me so have bought food from them a lot. The prices are ok - not the cheapest and the food can vary a bit in the amount of chilli it contains but is always well cooked and tasty. container size is more than adequate and food is usually ready within half an hour for collection and is hot.

The chips are lovely, but i dont like the fact that some dishes come with rice or naan and if you try and change it you end up confusing the person on the other end of the phone.

I havent used the delivery service as you get a 10% discount on collection and i suspect it would take longer.

no frills but delicious

if you are looking for a posh restaurant, this isn't it but the tasty food more than makes up for the lack of decoration. The back room reminds me of a truckers cafe and the bar is small.

The beer is nice and about as expensive as anywhere else. I have always found the staff friendly and helpful and have often eaten here. The choice of pies and veggies offered is a bit overwhelming the first time and you have to concentrate as the options are rattled off. It helps if you have looked at the menu for a couple of options that you fancy.

my favourite is christmas pie - have even taken christmas pie home for a no hassle christmas day meal with friends.

I think the prices are reasonable for what you get and the pies are a good size and well filled.

hidden gem

The dew drop inn is very well hidden indeed - when driving to it you could be forgiven for thinking that the directions were wrong and you were being sent into the middle of nowhere. However once you find it, it is well worth a visit. You are not advised to walk there though as it is remote.

The beer is reasonable, there is plenty of parking and a good sized beer garden which has been improved recently. although not huge inside there is plenty of space for groups.

The food is delicious and well cooked, and there is plenty of variety. The atmosphere is friendly and the staff are excellent. i would recommend a visit to this place.

popular break from work

A lovely pub with a huge beer garden located just back from the A4. It is popular with business professionals both at lunchtime and after work. The car park is often busy but is large enough to cope with demand.

sometimes it can take a while to get served, especially on a friday lunchtime but the staff are helpful and friendly.

the food is the same excellent standard as all other pubs in this chain. It is more expensive than "local pub grub" but not overpriced for the area. There is a large selection daily and the desserts are delicious. orders are usually processed quickly and served with a smile.

This little pub is compact but cosy. Theres not a lot of seating for a large group of people and it can feel a little claustrophobic when it is busy. That said it is quieter and has a more mature crowd than many of the pubs in maidenhead.

The wine selection is very impressive as is the selection of beers on offer. the staff are friendly and helpful and the atmosphere generally very pleasant. Being in the town center means there is no carpark for the pub itself but it is easily accessible. i havent tried the food here so cannot comment. All in all a pleasant place.

The parrot can give you a bit of a start but is well behaved.

Lovely in summer

The Belgian arms is located outside of maidenhead in the village of holyport and has long been a favourite at lunchtime for a break from work. There is a large beer garden and plenty of space for everyone, though the car park does get full so it is best to arrive early if planning a pub lunch on a sunny friday.

The pizza that used to be served was heavenly but the menu changed a year or so ago and the food got more expensive as a result. Still the food is excellent, varied and cooked beautifully. The beer and ale selection is reasonable.

youngsters pub


this pub is located in the market square at richmond and is a popular haunt of the younger crowd. Expect to find A level students and "just-turned-18" youngsters and you wont be disappointed. The food is reasonable as is the beer but it does get a bit too busy at times making it an ordeal to get a drink. The music can be loud but the atmosphere is generally lively especially on a weekend.

I think they do live music there on occasion and i wouldnt avoid the place but i wouldnt take my kids there either. fond memories buti think im too old for the place now.

The castle tavern used to be a regular haunt in younger days, and still my friends and i enjoy going back there now for old times sake. Its a small local pub with 2 bar areas and a pool table in the back. The beer is reasonable and not too pricey and the pub is generally quieter than most making it easy to get served. The decor is traditional and the locals are friendly enough (they dont bite). If you are looking for somewhere off the beaten track with optional music and relaxed traditional atmosphere then you could do much worse than a visit to the castle.

great value

this weatherspoons is in the building that used to be the post office in Richmond. Its much better as a pub. Going inside the interior has been set on several levels and there is a lovely beer patio outside at the back. The food and beer are good value for money and like every other weatherspoons, one of its draws is that it is possible to have a civilised conversation due to the lack of music blaring out. There are usually some good offers on for the beer and all in all its a great place to go for a pint. gets a good recommendation from me.

This pub is located on the caerleon high street and is a magnet for local revellers at the weekend, when it can get quite busy. As such, it is a place suited to the younger rather than the older generations. My friends will often meet here at the start of a night out before moving on elsewhere or to Newport. The beer is well priced and good and there is plenty of standing and sitting room. There are a couple of television screens and there is always a good atmosphere when the rugby is being shown. The decor is minimal and the toilets are small in my opinon but clean.
