What can one say about Thorntons? Possibly the best chocolate ever. If you want that special gift then items can be written on in icing especially at Easter. And don't just expect Easter eggs at Easter, Thorntons have lots of other Easter chocolate gifts.
For that special woman in your life, what could be better than a box of Thornton's Continental chocolates? Or if she is fussy about her chocolate centres than you can get a box made up of all her favourites.
But don't forget the men, there's plenty in Thorntons for them too. My husband's favourite is the chocolate gingers and a packet always finds its way amongst his christmas and birthday gifts

The Little Chef here has now closed for a second time. It was on the west lane of the A14 just before the Orwell Bridge. Its a favourite place for truckers to stop as there is a large car park by the side of the Shell garage there and plenty of truckers spend the night there.
The Little Chef as a chain seems to have suffered a lot in recent years with the trend for outlets such as McDonalds opening up by the road side. The Little Chef concept seems a little old fashioned in these days of fast food and the ones that seem to survive seem either to be linked with a Travelodge or a Burger King. If you need food in that area by the Orwell Bridge you have two options , the McDonalds on Nacton Rd just off at the Nacton junction or the Orwell Crossing place on the east side of the A14 just after the Nacton turn off

Stepping into this shop is like a trip back in time. When I visited just as it opened the staff were dressed in Victorian costume and were friendly and helpful. The old till added further charm to the experience. Inside were shelves and shelves of all the old favourites - pineapple cubes, winter mixture, cough candy, aniseed balls Edinburgh rock, sports mixture, chocolate coated raisins and nuts, toffees, pear drops just to name a few. It was really difficult to chose what to buy. Aniseed balls were my choice and winter mixture my husband's. As we left there were lots of people stopping to look in and discuss their favourite old tyme sweets. If you're in the area, a visit is a must

Oh Dear!!! This used to be my favourite pub in which to eat in. Good quality food at a very reasonable cost in pleasant surroundings, with helpful and friendly staff. I have regularly recommended the place to friends and even some visitors from America. But that has now changed. The staff are noticeably colder in attitude and helpfulness. The menu is boring and very much all the same kinds of foods. Very limiting for vegetarians. And when it actually arrives, its cold and not at all tasty. What a let down. The wait for the desert menu was slow and after ordering the delivery of the food to the table was incredibly slow. It was as though they couldn't be bothered. I won't be eating there again

This is one of my favourite shops in Norwich. The range of coffees and teas has to be seen to be believed. I love their fruit teas and at 3 packs for £12 they are a real bargain as each pack lasts a long time. The variety is also excellent and my favourite is Dreamtime which makes a brilliant bedtime drink. The fruit teas are often available as a taster so you can see if you like it before buying.As well as the coffees and teas they sell the coffee syrups which can make a coffee something very special to drink. Look out for their sales as you can often get coffee /tea sets/ mugs/plates much reduced. I got a super bowl last Saturday for half price
