After giving up my sport because i didn’t have enough time to fit it in around my uni work i wanted to keep my fitness and decided to join the gym. I thought that being an MMU student it would be cheaper than joining another gym and went to have a look around, however i was disappointed the gym wasn’t very big and didn’t have a vast amount of equipment. It also didn’t have a pool and so i didn’t join it. Instead i joined the aquatics centre as it didn’t work out all that much dearer and it had more equipment and it had a huge swimming pool. Personally i think that they should expand it for their students to get more people going.

For anyone who likes this Primark then its well worth visiting the one in Manchester because it’s even bigger and its better as it has a bigger variety of clothes. However this shop is a lot different from the one in Manchester because it is a lot tidier i.e. there aren’t load of clothes thrown all over the floor and it is much easier to find where all the clothes are. As it isn’t as big as the one in Manchester it doesn’t have the variety of clothes that the other store has and it sells a lot less of the home wear, menswear and children’s wear but there still is a lot of selection to choose from.

I just love this shop! It’s amazing, it sells all the clothes you could ever want and in all the colours that you want them. It sells a variety of clothes and also sells clothes for children, babies and has a menswear section. It sells things for your home which are located in the basement and they are also reasonably priced. They sell cushions and there really cheap too about £4. You can get a really cheap outfit for a night out from here and because its so cheap you can get another one the week after or whenever you need one. The clothes themselves are made pretty well and the wash well too which is surprising when you consider how much they cost. I wouldn't recommend going around dinner time because it can be so busy and clothes are thrown everywhere but you have to look beyond it.

This is another fab supermarket which sells all the food items that you could ever ask for but it sells them at a cheaper price because they are a foreign brand. It also sells a few brand names and it sells these at a cheaper price than other supermarkets. This is situated in an ideal location if you are a student as it is close to halls and is ideal for students because of the price. It’s also a really good place to go and buy your fruit and vegetables as their prices are very cheap, they also change them and have selected items at a discounted price of 49p, which is too good to turn down. Definitely recommend trying it out.

I am a really big fan of Aldi. I have shopped here for many years and a lot of my friends used to question why I would shop at such a place when there are other supermarkets that were better and don’t sell foreign brands. I would always say to them that its cheaper and the food is nice so you should try it. Now they are realising that its actually a really good supermarket. Like the other review states the beans are really good, but all of the food is and the meat is reasonably priced. For anyone who has never shopped here it is worth doing as it is a big supermarket and you can do your full shop cheaper than any other stores.

Dawson’s music store is a really big shop which is located on Portland street in between Pods and the Piccadilly hotel. It is rather a large shop and has lots of musical instruments on display, this is really good because not only can you have a look at them through the glass fronted window when you don’t have enough time to go in the shop. When you do have time to enter the shop you can have a proper look at the instruments and even have a little play on them! It is a friendly shop and the instruments are reasonably priced, so it’s worth taking a look if you are into music.

Alan Po Fong is the best Chinese take away around. I have been a regular customer here for about 5 years and travel about 15 minutes to get here as it’s not my local Chinese, however because it is so good I don’t mind travelling to it. It’s also one that all my family use. This is a really busy take away and as it’s busy you have to be prepared to wait for your food especially at the weekend, however it is worth the wait. It’s a really friendly take away and is priced at about the same as all other take aways. If you live nearby its worth trying it out.

When I go to Wilmslow Road I’m not bothered as to the amount i have to pay for a curry, what I want is to eat in a place where the staff are friendly and the curry is nice. This is what the Al Nawaz is, it has a very friendly atmosphere and the curry is really really nice. What i also like is the fact that the food is really cheap and what you sometimes find is that when the food is cheap it’s not very nice, but this is not the case. There are alcoholic drinks sold on the premises too. I often go to Wilmslow road and i when you find a good restaurant i like to stick to it.

I really like going to the theatre and try to get there at least once a month and this is a really great place to go. For anyone who is not sure where it is it is located on Oxford road just off Whitworth Street opposite Sainsbury’s local. It has loads of different shows on all the time and is reasonably priced and to get it even cheaper go to the matinee and make a day of it. Refreshments are on sale and are reasonably priced. It has such a wide variety of performances going on so I am sure you will find one which is suitable. It is also very nice on the inside considering it has been open for so long. Definitely worth trying it out if you have never been before.

One of the biggest arenas there is, however big doesn’t necessarily mean that it is the best. Don’t get me wrong the acoustics are really good and no matter where you sit you always have a decent view of the stage, but I just don’t feel that I enjoy the gig that much when I am here. I think it’s because it is so big it doesn’t have the same effect as it does when you are in a much smaller and intimate venue. Also it’s worth knowing that if you are scared of heights then don’t get a seat on the top floor because it is very high! Drinks are priced as you expect them to be and there are a lot of toilets available. Overall a great venue but everybody has their preference.
