If you detest all there is to detest about the big pseudo trendy 80/90s style bars, then the Crown might be more your style.

Nice little pub with 'olde worlde' feel.
Friendly, welcoming staff and customers.
Just off the Lanark High Street.


Also does food - think it holds Egon Ronay stars for the restaurant section.

Always Sunday - fab food
Visited for first time today - two adults one child.

Food was really good quality and deliciously full of flavour. Absolutely recommend.

Background music created calm, quiet, relaxed atmosphere where you can catch a bite to eat and relax and read the paper/drink coffee.

Only two small negative aspects:
SPACE - was a bit cramped, but the food more than makes up for that negative point!
FUSSY CHILD EATERS - no availability of plain food for fussy child such as a simple baked potato with tuna or cheese. This caused us a bit of trauma! It would have been good for the cafe to offer a simple child menu of even just a couple of choices.

All in all, top whole scoff, but not for fussy children who don't like anything with 'bits' in!
