Turkish delight!
Been to Haz twice now, once to break fast during ramadan and once for lunch with colleagues. For the meal during ramadan, they were excellent. I was breaking my fast their and they provided dates and a small dish of salad and sweets. Fantastic. They provide a lamb dish which is cooked with walnuts which is very nice. The mixed grill is good too, the lamb particularly tender. However the rice and vegetable portions are a bit small, despite very good quality. Reasonable pricing too. Worth a butchers, definitely

Chinese food with an Indian spice!
a delightful meal.. went to this small, unassuming restaurant in south wimbldedon during the week. very accomodating and didn't mind us waiting for more guests to arrive. the menu has a wide vegetarian selection whilst also providing halal meat, which for me is a necessity. if meat for starters is not your thing, i'd recommend the hong kong paneer. the main has an array of typically chinese dishes with an indian twist. alot of them were spicy. the hakka chilli chicken was almost like traditional ginger chicken with spring onions but with more flavour and sauce. awesome.. finished with having traditional masala tea. altogether per person bill came to £19 per person which is reasonable. no alcohol was consumed. heavily recommended. very close to wimbledon park station, pop in for a bite.

tasty but expensive eat!
took my girlfriend to the blue elephant for valentines day this year and it didn't disappoint. i found it odd however that our table was in SUCH close proximity to another couples - to the point where they moved.. but other than that, the interior is fantastic. sitting by the stream is a delight. the starters were delightful and we both noted how tender the meat was. this applies to both starters and mains. the chicken satay wasn't hard work to chew off the skewer and the lamb was easy enough to cut up with just the fork.. the food is good without a doubt. furthermore it's halal which is an added bonus for me. but it does hit the pocket hard.. not a regular eat i'm afraid!

good food at a kebab house?
the exterior to this particular restaurant is at sounds - typcially british kebab house with revolving meat, glass counter, salad bar, grill etc.. however, take a trip into the unfancy seating area situated behind the kebab house for a guaranteed delightful eat. yes, they provide burgers, chips etc but the typically turkish cuisine will set the taste buds tingling on your tongue - guaranteed! whether it be the lamb/chicken shish, kofte or kebab, the meat is continuously season and cooked to perfection. add some of the sauces to add more flavour and you're onto a winner each time.. don't let the looks deceive you. this is a quality bargain eat.

i've not eaten at all the iranian/persian restaurants in london but of those i've eaten at, mahdi tops them all. the open fire oven diffusing the aroma of delightfully fresh bread entices hungry folk from kings road. the lamb koubideh (sp?) is the best i've tasted - succulent, tender and plentiful! you can eat great food, eat alot of food for what is usually about £10. that includes drinks too. mahdi for me, is the best in london.

went to sofra with a friend to break fast. a swift walk away from either charing cross or covent garden station, the mood in sofra relaxes as dusk falls. the 'healthy meal' was certainly filling with skewers of chicken, baby beans, aubergine, feta cheese and haloumi as a part of the selection. truly filling and good quality food. the ice cream is a must try - pistacchio, rose and cinnamon flavours offer something you won't get every day. a must try for those who don't mind paying up to £20 for a bite.

classy location just around the corner from green park. we had a seperate dining room so maybe amplified experienced but service was exquisite! the starters weren't just bog standard starters either. the lime sorbet so wonderful sour it left your tongue tingling. 6 courses in all with tropical non-alcoholic cocktails to boot. yes, it is expensive but a grand location for anniversaries, romantic dinners etc.

awesome awesome! the q can be long but it's well worth the wait. the sizzling karahi style food will make yout taste buds tingle with delight, surrounded by the typical hustble bustle of east lodnon. when i went, i ordered all the starts coz they were so tasty! the lassi is simply awesome too - and all at a very reasonable price.

Patogh is a small Iranian eatery just off the hustle and bustle of Edgware Road. It's not glitzy, spacious or particularly welcoming but that is a part of the joy of the experience. The food is simply sublime and vast! There are several different meat dishes to cater for your taste. The lamb skewers are wonderfully succulent! Recommended!
