An old villa from the 1870's with an american style porch, close to the beach (100m), where you can sit outside and enjoy lunch or dinner while people watching.
On sunny days you can sit outside on the padio which also belongs to the restaurant.
The interior is for fine dining and has a garden and conservatory equivalent area. The place looks barrock and mediates a warm and welcoming feeling.
The food goes from breakfast to dinner and is average price. The cuisine is international and includes snails, goat cheese, fish and variations of steak and other meat. Lunch can be light if desired and dinner full range fine dining.

The restaurant is on the 4th floor right next to the Four Season's with an amazing water view. The inside is a large room with the kitchen being at the inner end of the room and seating along the spectacular window side as well as in the middle section. You can order all sorts of sushi and other japanese dishes.
All I had (tuna, shrimp and octopus sushi as well as beef) was nicely presented and tasted delicious. However, service could be slightly improved. We were with a group of four people and our plates arrived at different times with such a delay, that some of us where already finished with dinner by the time the last plate arrived. It also too quite a while ...

A michelin star above the city
This restaurant is quite an experience. The location is on top of the Mandala Hotel and is completely out of glas. In a dark and clear sky night you can watch the stars from your table.
The food and wine is excellent and for what you get not to pricy.

What can I say, although this is not my first choice three star michelin it is still worth any penny you spend on it.
The Restaurant is loated in one of the outskirt areas of Dsseldorf, right at the end of a street and a market place. The building is made out of brick and has a baroque style. The inside reminds of a true french restaurant which also explains what type of meals you can expect to find in the menue.
The place has been a three star since 1987 and there is a reason, quality is consistently high.
This is the kind of place you reserve for very special occasions.

A star for lunch
The Victorian has not been a star restaurant for very long. It is right of the famous "Knigsallee" or K and is not necessarily a spectacular place because of location or the inside of the restaurant itself. I would consider that part to be pretty average (for the type of restauran it is).
However, the food is extremly good and the wine list is worth seeing as well.
Although the place is good for lunch and evening (what you would expect for the price you are paying) I quite like their lunch menues.
One good thing about the Victorian is that you can usually get a table with short notice, even over the weekend.

The outside and interior do not reveal the good food
The restaurant is located in the outskirts of the city. From the outside it does not look like a great place and the inside reminds more of an old fashioned pub. The place could do with a refurbishment but it still creates a pleasant atmosphere. Once you are in and have ordered, you will be amazed by the quality of the food which is really good and let's you forget that you mumbled about the place earlier.

Very good Italian food
A really good Italian place in the center of the city. The owner is friendly and is also the cook. All pastas and pizzas are really good and freshly cooked. My all time favorite here is Spaghetti Carbonara.
This is the sort of local restaurant that you can have lunch at a couple of times a week.

Insider place...
Probably one of the best places in town. The restaurant is right in the center of the city and is really quirky. The place is extremly small but has several levels which are connected in an open plan style. The house is several hundred years old and therefore nothing is really straigt. Lots of wood and that combined with the table decoration and the missing space creates a great atmosphere.
The food is excellent and the wine selection ok.
Make sure you reserve, I do not think I have ever gotten a table without a quick phone call first.

What a name...
The name promises a castle which the location does not quite stand up for. The restaurant is located in the outskirts of Wermelskirchen and can definitely be called a place for locals. If you go here on a sunday, you are likely to meet your family should they live nearby.
The food is average but can take up to an hour should you hit a busy time of the day.
Overall ok but not the type of place you would take your girlfriend too for a romantic evening.
