Friendly cheerful and great fun
Tucked away behind in an alleyway behind the offices of a recruitment agency, the After Dark attracts a great mix of locals and students. Reasonably priced bar and entry. Regular nights include 80s (Success), 60s/70s/80s (Top Of The Pops), alternative (Sesame Street), 90s (The Word), and the legendary indie night - Fools Gold.

Friendly security, bar staff and punters. Black walls and ceiling, and sticky floor.

Keep an eye out for the stars on the ceiling!

Great Brasserie food
The Riverview Brasserie is apparently famed for it's live jazz, though there was just a background CD playing on the evening we visited.

A select menu - we both chose steaks, both of which were fantastic, though one slightly more rare than requested. One of the starters we requested was unavailable but we got a free alternative. Choice of spoons was a little odd - evidently no soup spoons or small desert spoons were available on the evening we dined.

Nice atmosphere though, good service, great food and very enjoyable wine; and we had a good table overlooking the river. Not too expensive either ~30 each including starters, deserts and wine.
