El Paso has okay Mexican food-- better than most Mexican food in London, but unfortunately I'm from Texas, where good Tex-Mex is everywhere, so I was inevitably disappointed with this food. The atmosphere is again okay... I felt they were trying to make it feel a little more lively than it was. There are much more lively and better quality places to eat in Shoreditch.

That said though, it was some of the best Mexican food I've had in London and the portions were generous. The staff was average, but like I said there are better places in Shoreditch so I probably won't be going back.

The best thing about Gourmet Pizza Co is the view. The pizza is overpriced and average. I was quite excited about going here-- and the thought of 'gourmet' pizza, but I was unimpressed with the pizza I had-- I've had much better for much cheaper. You obviously pay a lot for the view of the Thames-- which is lovely, and nearly worth it just for that-- but I wouldn't go back. The staff was okay-- not rude, but not overly friendly and accommodating and the atmosphere was nice. We sat outside on a warm night so it was a lovely meal, but like I said, I won't be going back anytime soon.

I had a great night out recently at the Electricity Showrooms. I always saw it as I passed by and wanted to see what it was like, but only recently made it inside. It's very nice and quite spacious, though it does get quite packed on the weekends. My friends and I chatted for awhile in the nice, quite relaxed atmosphere upstairs and we realized there were some good retro tunes one. We made our way downstairs and saw that they have a light up dancefloor! So from there we boogied the night away and had a great time. Drinks were a little expensive, but no more than you'd expect on a night out in Shoreditch.

I like Thai Garden, but I don't love it. The food is pretty average compared to other Thai restaurants in London, but it does offer many more vegetarian choices than your average restaurant. The food I've had there has been pretty good, but again, I've had better. The service, however, leaves a lot to be desired. Every time I've been there you basically have to walk over and ask for things yourself to where they are all lounging around by the bar. One time a group of very drunk and obnoxious people came it and disturbed the whole restaurant-- it's quite small-- and the staff did nothing.

No place like it!
This is one of my favourite places to go, not necessarily because of the high quality of fish and chips (though they are very good), but because of the couple who run the place. I used to live around the corner and they've been there for years. They really like to interact with their customers and are part of the community feel of the place-- some of the friendlist people I've met in London.

It's a cut above the fish and chips at a kebab shop and they very clearly enjoy what they do, which makes getting my fish and chips there a delight!

This is a very nice, good quality fish and chip shop where you can take away or eat in. I've always taken away and it's always lovely to walk to nearby Victoria Park and enjoy your fish and ships there. It's a very clean, nicely run place and the fish is very very good.

It's quite a big restaurant, especially for a fish and chip shop, and it's in a nice little area of Hackney on Lauriston Road. I've seen it quite packed so it must be quite popular. The fish and chips with mushy peas were certainly some of the best I've had in London.

I've seen many places lay the claim that they are the best fish and chips, but this place actually has the best fish and chips I have ever had. I had the haddock and chips with mushy peas and it was absolutely delicious. It must be quite popular as well because the queue was out the door. It's a very nice clean take away as well-- not like the ones where you really question the health and safety standards.

The fish I had was absolutely massive and the mushy peas were just right! Even though the queue was out the door it still didn't take too long to get served!

I had an amazing meal at David Bann during the Edinburgh festival. I went with a group of 8 and they were very friendly and accommodating. It was one of those very long leisurely dinner with lots of great food an wine and it was lovely!

I thought the food was delicious-- I had pumpkin ravioli and chili with chocolate coriander sauce. Just thinking about it now makes my mouth water! Everyone with me absolutely loved their meal. The atmosphere is very clean and nice-- a bit upscale. The prices are a little expensive, but you get what you pay for-- it was well worth it.

delicious seafood!
Loch Fyne has delicious food! I went there once for a long late lunch with a big group of friends and the staff were very friendly and accomodating to us. Everyone had a lovely time nad very nice food. I love seafood and Loch Fyne did not disappoint. They have a great selection for seafood lovers and a decent selection of wines.

The prices are pretty normal for good seafood. We had a three course meal and it didn't break the bank. The atmosphere is very clean and bright and there are many interesting dishes to choose from. Very good experience!

Decent Wetherspoon's
The Last Post is a decent pub for a Wetherspoon's. The food and drink is about like you'd expect. The crowd there tends to be quite young, especially on the weekends as there is a drama college nearby. The prices are reasonable and the staff are friendly, but again just in an average way, like you'd expect from a chain pub like Wetherspoon's.

They tend to have decent offers on food and you can go in an get a cheap deal for a meal and a drink. Again it's nothing special but if you know what to expect it does the job fine.
