A quiet little gem
We went for an impromptu celebration early on a Sunday evening and we were very pleased with the 'just-right' service and the excellent food. Although they were missing several wines from the list, the bottle we picked seemed a fine choice for the food. The prawns were to die for - huge, meaty, and perfectly cooked - and the vegetarian crispy duck (hooray! I found a local place that does it!) was delicious.

We have promised ourselves to go again, and hopefully with regularity.
Also, excellent value for quality food and service: we had veggie crispy duck, two prawn mains, double portion of steamed rice, and an £18.50 bottle of wine and the bill was a very reasonable £46 total. Well worth it.

Oh, and they do takeaway too!

I'd love there to be more space inside the restaurant, but beyond that tiny complaint the food delicious. I'm a vegetarian and the options here are top-notch and astonishingly good. There is a veggie (yes! really!) crispy duck to die for but make sure you splurge on the double portion -it will not go to waste. The Pink Giraffe is a tiny bit more expensive than I'd like, but overall, the food is worth it, even if you are nearly rubbing elbows with the next table.

Having been here several times, I can say that I've never had an average meal at Jonathans. Excellent quality Italian food. I recommend the ciabatta (fresh baked) and oil, the olive boat with its crunchy cloves of garlic, and any spaghetti or ravioli. You can trust the menu beyond my suggestionsI just haven't tried it all yet!

The tiramisu is a perfect finish to your meal and I've never had a finer plate of it.

The staff are friendly, the interior is clean, modern and un-fussy, and the prices are much less than you'd expect for the high quality of the food. (You'd pay double in London for what you get here.) I'd eat here weekly if I could.

Only slightly more expensive than your average pub meal, The Shire Horse has good food, decent service, and a clean environment. Definitely a better choice than your average Harvester and certainly beats Hungry Horse pubs hands (or hooves) down.

Super-fast, fresh and plentiful oriental food in a minimalist dining environment. Love this place! It's near the cinema and loads of bars, also just a minute walk from the multi-story car park. Great value and really good food.

We love Herbies. The stuffed garlic bread is dripping with goodness, the pizzas are fresh and generously topped, the delivery persons always nice. Try the fresh garlic on a pizza - it's actually crunchy with the stuff and so good! Don't forget Jalepeno Poppers for a side! Give us Herbies over the big chains anyday...

Reasonable prices, love the soya beans in the pod (very fun to eat!), and the simple interior is lovely. Definitely need to go again!
