Well, what can I say...Burley is one of the greatest club nights I ever been to. What a spectacle!

I have to say, I was very impressed by the authentic looking strippers they laid on the last time I was there. I was dying to be cuffed and truncheoned by one (or both) of them, but they fled empty handed, and by God I had something to put in their hands.

Anything goes here allegedly, and you'll be glad of the darkness when you see some of the flamboyant leather pouches (and leather paunches) on display.

Not for me
Not impressed by my last 2 visits here. Should have learned and not gone back the second time. Don't know what the prices are like for customers sitting in, but takeaway is overpriced. The staff are not particularly friendly and the owners had an argument in front of me over my coffee order. I was glad to be taking it away.

I bought a fruit scone (no butter or jam) to take away - wouldn't have minded paying £1 for it if it had been home made, but I watched as the lady took it out of the Morrison's pack of 4 for £1.

I'll give them one star for their outside seating area. It looks quite nice.

Fantastic food, great atmosphere.

The outside of this place is deceptive. It looks like there's only a handful of tables, but through the back there is plenty of space. The decor makes you feel like you're on holiday!

They offer the usual Greek staples and there is plenty of variety. Delicious olives and bread, salads, homemade houmous, great moussaka, succulent kleftiko (the lamb was falling off the bone), fish dishes. The portion sizes of main courses are perfect - not intimidating, but certainly not mean.

I have also had the mezze platter (for more than one person) and it was never ending. Fantastic value for money at £17. The only negative about the mezze was that there was too much meat!!

A great place for a celebration, the atmosphere is great, the staff are attentive. I'll definitely be back.

Korean delight
Definitely one of my favourite places to eat in Glasgow. The place itself is modern inside and is over two levels. The menu is interesting and offers a good variety of seafood and meat dishes. They also have sushi available.

When eating in, they provide a small selection of free nibbles. These seem to vary wildly and in the past I've had dried fish, pickled aubergine and cabbage, omlette and potatoes. It's just your luck. It's a nice touch though.
The starters include chargrilled prawns and scallops to chinese style dumplings. Don't know how authentic these are, but they taste good.
A traditional korean dish called bulgoki - pork/beef in a rich soy gravy - is a good place to start. You wrap the marinaded meat in lettuce leaves and eat with your fingers. This comes with miso soup and rice. There are also more adventurous items on the menu, like pork gristle, but I've yet to try that.

They also do a delicious salted mackerel dish, teriyaki chicken and beef, chilli prawns and a great stone pot dish with beef and egg.
Never been disappointed with the food here. Be warned though, the hot dishes are hot. I think this is down to the national speciality, kimchi - a spicy pickled cabbage condiment, which seems to be served readily!

They do take away - 10% off. Decent portions, but bad choice of packaging which doesn't keep the heat in very well. Collect the food yourself because the delivery driver invariably gets lost. Maybe it's just where we live.

Drinkwise, they don't serve spirits, only wine and beer. Haven't tried any desserts, so can't comment. No coffee, only herbal teas.

I was disappointed when I saw that Delizique was closing down, then I read that it was relocating and in addition, the original premises were to be a cafe bar, serving food supplied by the deli and also their on site team of bakers and chefs. They have both a daytime and an evening menu.

I have now been there 3 times for both food and drink, eating only from the daytime menu. The atmosphere is very relaxed and although the dining area is quite small, they manage to pack a fair crowd in without it feeling too cramped. The menu offers a selection of tasty salads and sandwiches - BLT, HLT (halloumi), Pastrami & Swiss cheese (on their homemade bread) as well as their all day breakfast. Think Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon, Puddlebub bacon, Stornoway black pudding. They use fantastic ingredients so it's not bargain prices, you definitely pay for the quality and surroundings.

The staff are polite and generally pleasant, but extremely slow. On all three occasions, we have waited in the doorway to be seated, only to be passed by staff flitting from cafe to deli without acknowledgement. Eventually we just took seats, but were left wondering if we'd ever be served and were beginning to think they'd forgotten our coffee and water order after 25 minutes.

On both occasions we went there to eat, the items we ordered were unavailable. My partner has a lactose and wheat intolerance and unfortunately these were the only items on the menu he could eat. The chef helpfully made something to order, so that was a bonus. It was not easy to pin down a member of staff to quiz about ingredients, but when we did they were heplful.

All in all, I like the idea, I love the food but it definitely needs some fine tuning.

Lively atmosphere - same menu
Cafe Andaluz has 2 branches in Glasgow and I have eaten in both. If I had to choose between the two I would definitely go back to both but prefer the one in the West End.

The West End restaurant is on Cresswell lane, just near the pubs on Byres Rd and is a great starting place for a night out. It is below ground level and is very cosy, with room for large or small groups. The restaurant itself is very atmospheric, with Moorish influenced interiors and bench type seats with cushions.

The food has never been disappointing in itself - they offer a good selection of meat and vegetable tapas. The only down side is that the menu doesn't change very often. Not a problem if you're visiting Glasgow, but I reckon I've tried almost everything on the menu by now!

Always really busy at nights, so it's best to reserve especially at weekends.

We have been going to Balbir's for a while now and have never been disappointed. The food is always great, service speedy and the staff are really helpful and pleasant.

It's touted as a healthy eating option and we initially went because they don't use ghee (my partner has a lactose intolerance). They use minimal oil for cooking, so gone are the days of curries with oil slicks on top!

For a starter, the tandoori salmon is delicious and the bhel puri is really nice if you want something a bit different. Their saag is great and for something a bit spicier, the Xacuti (a Goan speciality) is awesome.

The restaurant is massive - great for big groups - and has always been busy when we've been in. They recommend you book in advance if you want to go on Friday/Saturday night. The only minor flaw is that it's so big that I feel it lacks cosiness.

They also do take away and the portions are massive - I think they are bigger than you get in the restaurant.
