A fun way to kill a couple of hours in London. All the usual arcades, air hockey, gaming, 10p machines etc. Also a bowling alley, sports bar and a bar offering lane service. Upstairs are dodgems, simulator rides, and video games. Great for kids, but it will cost a lot of money if they want to do it all, so worth restricting to a brief time period. I believe it’s over 18’s only at night, but that may only be weekends. There is also a cineworld in the building, which is expensive being London. Overall though, it’s just an arcade, it may be famous but I wouldn’t say it makes it worth doing especially.

Lowry
There's loads here, from the Lowry galleries to theatres, gift shop and restaurant and cafes. Free to enter although donations are welcome. The building is wonderful, much to be admired and in a lovely setting with views of the waterside. The lowry exhibition itself is well done, with 2 floors and lots to see. Staff were really helpful asking if we needed help in lots of the rooms. The theatres too are amazing, one of them is really big, probably the best threatre in Manchester. A fun day out, plenty to see and lots to enjoy. I really recommend it.

Take careful note of where this is cos it's nicely hidden in an alley way and took me ages to find on the first attempt!! Being just off deansgate though, it's well served by public transport. Quite a small club. Mainly a student club, so very very cheap drinks with some good special offers. But I find it less studenty than 5th Avenue. They play indie indie indie! Can get very packed on the dancefloor so you're quite likely to lose you're friends! Doormen can be a bit knobish though! I find it a friendly crowd, much better than 5ths and less weirdos as well!

This is a popular student club venue, so if you don't like students stay away! I'm a student who doesn't like students, so I tend to do this!! However, it can be a laugh even so. Drinks are very cheap (being a student club) and music is mostly indie but this depends what night you go on. Check out their website in advance before going to see what it will be. I like Thursdays as it's absoloute pure indie with no rnb/dance crap to try keep everyone happy, but if you're going with a group who like all sorts I guess other nights might be good.

A kosher bakery in Golders Green, famous throughout the whole of London not just for the bagels but their fabulous range of sweet deserts as well, you don't need to keep kosher to enjoy. The smoked salmon bagel and cream cheese is absoloute heaven (nothing beats Kosher smoked salmon). They also do pizzas and other stuff like pastries too. Only problem is having a place to tuck in, I'd recommend going to golders green park afterwards if you're looking for somewhere nice other than a high street bench to it the food. I don't know what I'd do without carmellis!!

Hampstead Tea Rooms
This place used to be really nice but in my opinion it's gone right downhill. Last time I went, and I won't go back, service was slow and they brought the wrong type of egg with my breakfast despite asking specifically what I wanted when I ordered. To be fair, the menu is quite nice, especially the cakes and deserts!! They do some nice drinks that are quite different, including milkshakes and an iced chocolate drink which I saw someone have and it looked delicious! But overall, service was poor. The waitress didn’t seem to have a clue what she was doing. A shame for somewhere that used to have such a good reputation.

Tour
This is a really interesting tour, and I'm not even that much into Politics! Tours run every fifteen minutes and cost £12 for adults, £8 for concessions and £5 for children or you can get a family ticket for £30. You get a tour of the victoria tower, through to the queens robing room, royal gallery, house of lords and commons and a few others places I can't remember! It takes more than an hour so make sure you've got the energy! It is probably worth booking in advance to guarantee getting on a tour at the time you'd like.

London Zoo
Who doesn't love the zoo?! A great day out, for families, couples and friends alike. Located in the north east corner of regents park, it's easy to find. For children too the place is perfect. At certain times the zoo keepers will bring certain animals out, or let the kids help with the cleaning e.g. penguins. Entrance you could argue is quite expensive, but it’s a great day out and you will not come away disappointed! Get there early as it closes at 5.30 and you’ll be able to make the most of it. There’s also a shop and restaurant, but I’d stay away due to general priceyness of them both.

Science Museum
I remember going here as a child many a times, and loving it every single time! There is so much interactive things to do and learn, including throughout the museum touch screens and stuff like smelling objects to identify them. As well as that, there is a gigantic play room in the basement with all kinds of sciency stuff aimed at keeping the kids entertained. Entry to the whole museum is free. It can get very busy in school holidays and weekends so be warned, but it's still well worth it. The shop too is great, loads of books and souvenirs to take home.

History Museum
First off, the building is absolutely stunning!! And as one of the largest museums in Europe, you will not be disappointed. Easy to find from South Kensington station (or other), and right next to the Science museum and victoria and albert museum, if you want to cram it all in! But I'd advice them all seperately cos there is so much to look at. Great for kids and adults alike. Free to enter, and exhibs on a range of stuff from dinasours to other animals such as insects and mammals. Some great interactive features for children, and really interesting information for everyone alike.
