best fast food you can get
Fast food is pretty crap on the whole - Subway is probably the only place I frequent in this market, solely because their food offers some degree of healthiness (if thats a word!) Basically if you want a small meal the sub of the day is always a reliable meal and you can fill it up with a load of salad and veg to bulk it out in to a decent sandwich when you get to the salad counter. I quite like the meatball mariner, but due to the lack of knowledge about what is in the meatballs and where they come from I usually stick to a turkey or ham & turkey sub. Beats McDonalds any day! the staff are pretty cool at this branch.

One of the best Indians Ive had!
I love this place, it is a great restaurant and even after being told it was good it exceeded my expectations. The staff are friendly and we received excellent service all night. The food was some of the best indian ive ever eaten and the prices are pretty good too! They serve some nice beers and the range of dishes on the menu is massive! The position isn't amazing, but this is probably my only complaint with the place, it is a bit out in the sticks, so you can't drink too much with your meal :( You may want to book in advance on bank holidays, as they get quite busy!

Nice pub, but too expensive
This pub is in a nice position in hay and is a nice building but unfortunately I never go and there are two reasons for this... Firstly because of the stupid prices in there and secondly because the land lord is pretty un-friendly. The pub is hated among the local people of Hay and so relies on the tourist trade, which is enough to keep it going. I would however advise a walk down the road to kilverts, the wheatsheaf or the rose and crown for cheaper drinks and better atmosphere! I have never tried the food here, so cannot comment on it, but again prices are high and I think you could get better elsewhere in hay!

As mjbryan said this place used to be pretty good, but now it really is crap. It is overpriced and full of pretentious people. The music is pretty bad too, always a boring house beat droning out from there, I don’t think I could handle going back these days! The food is also over priced like the drinks, this place will put a downer on your night every time. The staff are average and the only good thing about it is its position, which is fairly central in the town centre, but if I was you I would go to HA Has over this any day!

Good for students
I went here last weekend for the first time in years and realised it ain't all that great...always packed so you can barely move, expensive drinks and you often have to queue to get in. The only good thing about this place is the crowd, which is all students and to be fair its one of the better places to go in guildford if you are a student. They do sometimes get some good live music/djs in there, which can be cool. It has a good position too, hidden away a bit from the main streets. I haven't tried the food, but it looks ok.

Mad place on a friday night
This place becomes absolutely packed on a friday/saturday night and is probably one of the best places in reaeding to go out, with some of the best music played in reading.
However, unfortunately this is not saying much, it still doesn't compare to a lot of the good pubs/clubs in london for example. However, if you are drunk this place can be a good laugh and the outdoor area is a really good place to mingle. Just make sure you go to the toilet before you go in, as the queues are horrendos. If you get thrown out of the back gates (good place to take a sly piss without queuing!), simply queue up again round the front to get back in.

Trendy bar, great range of beer!
Since it was refurbished a year or two ago, this place looks about 1000 times nicer, and it now offers a brilliant range of beer, serving german beers, fruli, kriek and my favorite: Mared Sous on tap! At around £380 a pint it isn't the cheapest place in guildford, but I would pay the extra money to be sitting in such a nice environment as opposed to the spooons/yates bars that are littered all over the rest of guildford. The food is good here, especially the herefordshire steak burger, although again, can be a little pricey! Nice heated area outside, best bar in guildford!

Good pub with good food
Seems like one of the nicest pubs in hereford this one. Great place to start the night, with good, average priced, traditional herefordshire food and reasonably priced drinks. There is plenty of room in there and it is a very friendly place. It gets very busy in there later on in the night and can get a little packed by the bar, so be prepared to wait a little while for drinks. It is hard to find a decent bar in Hereford, so a lot of people drink here until the jail house is getting going and then head straight there, instead of having to suffer in spoons or dusk!

Just another boring spoons
Although this place is a nice building in a great location with masses of room it is brought down like every weatherspoons by the vast crowd of boring, closed minded drunks every weekend. The food and drink is pretty poor, prices are average, the atmosphere and people is horrible, they turn horrible commercial pop music up to such a volume that you can't hear yourself think and you would never meet a decent person in this kind of pub. It can make a useful meeting place to start your evening, but apart from that it really is a dive! stay away!
