If you are in leicester square, its very difficult to find a pub where you don't grow old waiting at the bar. Brewmasters is a traditional english pub that is serves good food and beer and even though, its centrally located never seems to be very crowded. There are few chairs outside where you can sit and relax with your drink. You do get occasional Big Issue sellers if you sit outside.

The service at the bar is very good. The food served is traditional english fare and good. A good pub to start your evening with and enjoy a pint in a traditional environment.

Good Turkish Food
Haz offers a modern turkish fare and is quite popular amongst city workers. The interior is nice and there is plenty of space. But,it can get very busy during lunch. If you area big group, getting a reservation done in advance is a good idea.

The food is not very spicy and there are plenty to choose from. The lamb kofte are excellent. There are also lot of casseroles options available. Vegetarians have a smaller menu but I was told by my "veggie" friend that it was allright.

The food is reasonably priced and the quality is good. Service is little slow (i guess due to the lunch time rush).

if you want good turkish food for lunch, Haz is worth a try.

Trendy!
Just off brick lane, the Vibe Bar is a trendy and fun place to be. A sunny afternoon is the perfect day to visit as you can enjoy the sun in its outside seating area. There are live bands performing on some days and no, there are no extra charges. The seating inside is comfortable with couches here and there, but the lighting is bit dark. I guess that adds to the overall underground appeal. The bar is so-so with regular beers on offer, nothing special.

A cool , trendy joint and will be specially liked by the young crowd. I would strongly recommend the Vibe Bar if for a lazy afternoon drink in a relaxed ambience

Sports Cafe
With a TV screen where ever you turn your eyes, the Sports Cafe is truly for the sports enthusiast. There are lots of screens and they show all Sky and Setanta games (no dodgy satellite channels though). The place is usually crowded on weekends, when there is a game of football on. The bar is ok but very crowded, specially during the half time. Upstairs there are more TVs for watching the footie and they do have some pool tables.

But you can come here while your wife is shopping in Oxford street, get a pint and ignore everyone to enjoy the live sports.

A small but stylish casino in the Mayfair area. You have to register to get in. The place is nicely decorated and there are plenty of games available to try. The best part is that while you are on the table, any food you order is on the house. The drinks are also reasonably priced. However, you end up playing more so be careful. The stakes are higher in Palm Beach. Roulette is minimum £2 and blackjack is £10 or over. Its not very crowded , the dealers are friendly and open till late. Recommended to those who want to enjoy a quiet environment while they gamble.

The La Tasca near canary wharf is part of the La Tasca chain but the one in canary wharf has an advantage of location. It has outdoor seating perfect for sunny days and plenty of space inside when it starts raining. The food is same as in any other La Tasca (Spanish Tapas) and yes you do get Sangria. The service is ok and depends on how busy it is.

Overall, a glass of sangria in the sun with water and the tall buildings of canary wharf in front of you, this La Tasca makes a good dining option for the summer.

Abacus
A trendy bar near Bank station, Abacus in its new avatar is a good place to hang out. Preferred by city workers, the place is also is a favourite with many of the trendy folks. There are lots of drinks on offer and the food is actually good. There is also a dance floor at the lower levels and it seems to be very popular with the girls.
One piece of warning though. There are few mini-cab drivers and suspicious looking characters outside. I have not heard of any problems but it does feel odd once you step out late in night.
Overall, a trendy joint for those wanting a late night drink.

It was the first time i tried Korean food and i was very impressed by the restaurant. It is a good idea to book in advance as finding a table can be difficult.

They have a BBQ on the table and you can enjoy the beer while the food cooks right in front of you :) The grill has plenty of meat options. You can also get some lettuce leaves that make a wrap with the grilled meat inside, along with some onions etc. Tastes very yum!
There are good options for vegetarian also but note, some may not like the smell and smoke of the grill.

Overall an interesting dining experience and worth a try. You won't be disappointed.

Lahore Kebab House is one of the best curry houses in london. Located in Aldgate, it is almost always full and there is sometimes a wait to get a table. The interior is nothing special and the place is very noisy (lots of diners, bollywood music on the TV screens). The Lamb Chops and Sheekh Kebabs are favourite for starters. A special dish is Lamb Nihari, but its not on offer always. Try it if its available.

The food is reasonably priced and the service is ok given that the staff are always busy. The Ambience is not that great but the food makes up for it and you have to bring your own alcohol, which is a plus for those on budget.

Crowded but what can you expect for a bar right in Leicester square. There is plenty of seating area spread over 3 levels and there is a area outside as well. But still, the bar is very crowded and it takes forever to get a drink from the bar.
Overall its a nice place for its location and if you arrive early. On offer is a standard all bar one menu and drinks selection, so you won't be disappointed. I prefer sitting outside if the weather permits as inside it can get very noisy. Another advantage is that you can get table service outside, so no standing forever at the bar.
