Student Essential Night Out!
If you want a cheap and cheesy night out in Bath, go here. Not very sophisticated, fancy or complicated. Busy on Student nights (Mon and Thurs), sometimes so much so they have to turn people away at 11pm!

Large dance floor by Bath standards, with a retro theme. Okay atmosphere, quite friendly, particularly near the start or end of the student semester (late Sept, early Oct, early Dec, late Jan,early Feb and late May).

Much better choices in Bath if cheese (and the accompanying set-list only 20 tracks long) is not your thing.

Quite often some kind of offer on drinks or entry so keep an eye out!

Subway
Its the same Subway, with the same fairly tasty sandwiches that claim to be healthy, but really aren't (check the nutritional info on their website) as you get the whole world over.

But its fairly cheap and fairly nice if you are in a rush or just lazy. Good meal deals with a syrup based drink and chocolate circle.

As usual with Subway you can 'have it your way', assuming the usually incredibly depressed staff actually listen to you. They are actually usually very friendly and helpful, will suggest different things and ideas if you wish.

One of the few 'fast food' places with decent Veggie options.

Impressive!
Very impressive building, takes your breath away the first time you see it. It is of course free to view, so make sure you check it out if you come to Bath. Walk around, along, near and right up to it to really appreciate the details in the design and construction.

Head just a little East to view the equally impressive Circle.

It overlooks a nice park, perfect to hang out or play a relaxed game of footie in the summer. However it does get VERY busy in the warmer months.

Careful of the tramps near the Bandstand in the Royal Park.

Very grim
Agree with the previous review, this is a very cheap and not very cheerful place, with the punters to match.
Food is best avoided, but the drinks are well priced and the place does have some drinks it is hard to find anywhere else.

Tends to be full of young non-students, so never that friendly or nice an atmosphere. Lights that seems way to bright with excessively loud music for such a pub give it an unrivalled foul taste in you mouth, along with a headache. Feels more like a motorway service station restaurant that sells booze.

The worst Weatherspoons pub I have every been to.

Best in Britain
Best place to see a gig in the UK. Great sound and atmosphere, beautiful period features to the whole building. Friendly and helpful staff all around, and at music gigs they spend practically all their time providing water to the dehydrated moshers. Good location for easy transport into and out of london too.

I went to a heavy metal gig a few years back, and it was easily the best gig I have ever been fortunate enough to go to.

Queue was a bit long, ~1hour and all the way round the corner to get in, but it was worth it!

Did you know that Wagamama is Japanese for 'selfish'?

I can see why considering how tasty their meals are.

Okay so its not a typical dining experience, you may sit with random people, it can be very busy and noisy, you wont get you meal at the same time as others with you and you will wait for ages if you dont have the guts to get the waiters attention when you are finished. BUT, the food seems to be good quality, freshly made (hence why each meal takes a different time to make) and reasonably priced.

Register on their website for great deals, competitions, desktops etc and most importantly vouchers! Usually a 2for1 so worth the ink for the printer!

1 stop shop for almost all your needs, food, petrol and DIY equipment at Homebase.

Huge car park, with lots of trollies, but remember to bring a pound coin or a pound-saver to use one. Parking is 2 hours max otherwise you get fined.

Good choice of fairly good quality foodstuffs, large range of fresh meats, fish and bakery items.

Usual isles of veg, ready-meals, bread, baby, healthcare, electronics, alcohol, cleaning, meats, pet-food, frozen etc.

Decent selection of games/books/CDs if all you care for is the top 20 popular items.

Constant offers on student essentials, pizza, yoghurt corners, orange juice, beer, spirits.

Fuel is usually the cheapest in Bath, but no Super Unleaded available.

A posh, comfortable, clean and relaxed pub, with the atmosphere and prices suited to a more mature clientèle. Good location in town to meet up with friends and family, although no parking nearby.
Good choice of interesting and tasty meals and snacks, with very friendly and helpful staff. Sometimes even being over considerate, interrupting your meal to see if everything is okay.

Good deals can be had if you go to their website, such as 2for1, free drinks etc.

Never very busy, so good if you are looking for somewhere quiet and relaxed, perfect for a serious chat about work or relationships.

Bath Odeon
Bath Odeon is just a branch of the Odeon cinema chain, located in Bath, nothing much more to say.

Shows almost all the latest films, and quite often has themed midnight showings of the big blockbusters. For example, for the latest Indiana Jones film everyone who went at 1am got a free cheapy Indy hat.

Usual selection of snack food and toilet facilities. Lift available for disabled.

Student Tip:
Make sure you go to the freshers fair during freshers week to get lots of vouchers for the autumn/winter months, as well as a few cool posters.
Also sign up to studentbeans.com for 2for1 on Mon-Thurs.

Dont forget Orange Wednesday 2for1 too, just dial 451 from an Orange networked phone for your code!

Bath Spa Station
Bath Spa is THE place to go if you wish to catch the very latest train. It features two great lines of track, in the directions of East and West. West takes you to Bristol Temple Meads, and thus Wales, the South West, the Midlands or further North if you so desire. East goes to London, the rest of Europe, and eventually Asia.

As far as train stations go its clean, safe and kept free of criminals and undesirables. Helpful and fairly friendly staff all over the place. Decent shops/snack-bars if you dont mind paying extortionate prices.

Make sure to turn up early or pre-book your ticket as there always seems to be someone in the queue ahead of you asking for a list of every station in the UK or something equally useless.
