The Woods
The Woods is a great bar situated just off Park Street. They have an extensive selection of cocktails and beers. The bar gets really busy on the weekend but staff always seem to be friendly and relaxed. There are usually DJs on the weekend which adds to the atmosphere. The bar attracts a lot of students, but overall there is usually a good mix of people drinking here. If you like your bars to have a good choice of booze at reasonable prices with an unpretentious atmosphere then you need to try this place! It also stays open really late on Fridays and Saturdays which is great if you can't be bothered to move on to a club.

Comfi is a small club situated on the Triangle. It has a great atmosphere which attracts a good mix of people from all walks of life and of all ages. The DJ often plays a vast range of music and will play requests so long as he has the music (which he usually does). This means that you could be dancing to The Killers one minute, and then Beyonce the next! It is a great place to go for a night of unpretentious fun and a good old fashioned boogie. Drinks are reasonably priced for a Bristol club, and all staff are friendly and helpful.

Severnshed
The selection of food on offer at Severnshed is amazing. As well as a regularly changing menu there is usually a varied selection of daily specials available which ensure that the restaurant caters to the tastes of even the most fussy eaters. Whilst it isn't particularly cheap, it is good value for teh standard of food served. There is a great value for money 2 course meal offer available before 7pm Monday-Saturday which is a great way to try the restaurant out for the first time. The bar is separate to the restaurant and is a great place to enjoy a drink even if you choose not to dine. The cocktail list is extensive and the bar staff are really generous with the amount of alcohol that they use!

The Rummer
This has to be one of the best bars in Bristol. It has such a chilled out vibe, especially in winter when the open fire is blazing. The cocktails are amazing and the wine and spirit selection is really impressive. Drinks are reasonably priced considering this is such a nice bar. It often gets busy on the weekend so if you are planning on visiting with a group of friends it is well worth getting on the guest list. It is hard to find a sophisticated venue in Bristol that is not pretentious but The Rummer seems to have hit a good balance. Although I haven't eaten here, I hear that the food is also excellent.

Fantastic tapas restaurant in the heart of Brist
El Puerto is a delightful Spanish restaurant situated on the Grove in central Bristol. It has a fantastic atmosphere that makes you feel as though you are holidaying in Spain, and serves great value for money authentic dishes. It is a great place to go with a group of friends for a really social evening, or alternatively it works just as well for a romantic meal with a loved one. Whenever friends come to Bristol to stay I always bring them here and El Puerto never disappoints. As well as delicious tapas dishes they have a variety of mains, and a good wine selection that is reasonably priced.
