Gastro pub lunch
I went for lunch with work mates in this nicely presented pub restaurant, the menu is functional but with some nice touches, the chicken sandwich with tomato and avocado pesto was quite tasty and the burgers that the rest of the team had looked appetizing. The place was perhaps a little over priced for the size of the portions but the area in particular can be quite expensive.

It's a good place to go for lunch if you are meeting someone but I'd find an alternative if I was just hungry, especially with some of the delicatessens in the area.

Chinese with style
Perfect for a romantic dinner or to celebrate an event, the decor of the resturant is quite stunning and the presentation of food and service was exceptional. Fortunatly the food is superior too although the range of the menu is quite select.

we tried the chicken in black bean sauce and the monkfish and found both to be delicatly cooked and flavorsome, to accompany the main course we had egg fried rice and singapore noodles, both above standard.

I did find my starter of smoked shredded chicken to be sweeter than I would prefer but it didn't spoil the meal

A meal for two with a bottle of wine plus tip came to around 100 which, considering the quality of the place, seemed more than reasonable, I assumed it would be more.

I'm looking forward to going again.

I went for a romantic dinner in this modern european resturant and enjoyed the food and the atmosphere.

The service was above par allowing us to focus on the food, the subdued lighting and live piano music rounded off the night.

Next time I visit I'll opt for a more complex dish than the rib-eye steak, which was fine but simple. My starter of scallops was a more rich offering.

Zipangu, Japanese traditional
Zipangu is a japanese resturant that does simple traditional dishes well for a decent price. The setting is a basic japanese style and the quality of the food is consistently good. You have the option of going for a range of set menues or selecting your own from a comprehensive list of choices.

The chicken gyoza are a firm favorite of mine as a starter due to a light, crisp dough, the Katsu curry and rice is a nice staple dish and the Bento boxes have a strong selection of choices.

This is the best simple Japanese resturant I've been to in London and always a first choice when looking for food in the West End.

I went to try the okonomiyaki and to experiance the preparation and cooking of the dish, both were well received.

Okonomiyaki was described to me as a "Japanese Pizza" which is true from the variety of toppings but the base owes more to spanish omlettes than to dough.
The preparation and cooking of the dish is done on a hot-plate in the centre of your table which is fun to watch but leads to some smoke which may irritate some.

The resturant and food were fine and there were no problems with the service.
