    Gamestation (Hull): Bigger and better.
What once was a little game store, has moved, and since has become bigger and better than before.

Gamestation moved from Prospect Street into the Prospect Centre shopping outlet, resulting in a much bigger store, more stock, more staff, and a wider range of products.

    - Choice -
Gamestation offer new and pre-owned games for most console formats, including retro games for consoles as far back as the 'second generation' (Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, etc). Their range is now much improved. In the older store, it was often difficult - if not impossible - to find the titles you were looking for due to the cramped space.

In addition to consoles, PC and console games, and accessories, Gamestation now also stock other gaming-related merchandise. This includes keychains, apparel, miscellaneous things such as lighters and trading cards, strategy guides, and magazines. Also in stock are non-gaming related items such as iPods, DVD/Blu-Ray, and accessories. The store has looked at what the customers have a demand for, and provided the supply, making many items easily accessible under one roof.

    - Product Quality & Value -
Gamestation heavily test any products brought in before having them passed on to the customer. While any pre-owned goods will have some degree of damage from good old wear and tear, the store will not resell any products which are damaged enough to prevent them from functioning as they are. The worst you're likely to get is a few scratches on a games disc, or a console with a worn paintjob.

On the off-chance you do encounter a problem, Gamestation have a no-fuss one-year guarantee on all sales, which will be executed without hassle nor hesitation. They'll even try and fix the problem if it's customer-serviceable, upon returning the item to the store.

To further enhance the customer's value for money, discounts are offered when buying multiple games. Four games worth £7.99 will have their prices reduced to £5 if bought together, and likewise games worth £3.99 will be reduced to £2.50 if purchased in a foursome.

Gamestation also grant the customer the best possible value on trade-ins, by offering to match any trade-in value quote if it's higher than their own pricings.

    - Customer Service -
One of the better aspects of Gamestation is that they aim to hire staff who genuinely want to be there, and are enthusiastic and passionate about their jobs.

This has a knock-on effect to customer service, as the positive attitudes of the staff influence their interactions.

Gamestation's staff, as a whole, are friendly, helpful, have upbeat attitudes, humourous natures and carry out their jobs with a lot of personality. Some retail chains have drone staff who will scan barcodes without a word, whereas Gamestation's staff like to break the awkward silence with a friendly chat and a few jokes here and there. It really does make the shopping experience more relaxed.

    - Summary -
Overall, the Hull store has come a long way from being a little games store, and easily surpasses most "mainstream" retail outlets. They do this by factoring in the little things as well as the bigger picture, and by viewing - and treating - customers as human beings, rather than merely customers.

Great selection of products, an almost exact guarantee that anything purchased will work perfectly, staff you can have a good chat with, and the best deals on trade-ins.

There is not much more one can ask for in their local video game store.
