If you are a bit drunk and on your way home, count your loose change and just choose anything. It will taste fab if you have had a few drinks but won't give you a dodgy tummy. Not top quality cuisine but ok.

Ok but there are better cafes in the west end. Offshore is a bit pretentious but does do good coffee. It is not a very big cafe but always seems to be packed with people. The staff are friendly enough and they often have art displays but there are plenty of places I would rather drink coffee. The drinks are ok but seem a bit expensive. I would rather go to Biblocafe or Tchai Ovna. Worth a try but I will never be a regular.

The perfect place to chill
If you like good tea and just want to hang out with friends this is the place for you. Hidden down a back alley in the west end it is a favourite hang out of students but that does not mean if you are not a student you will not be welcome. It is hippie heaven. Sit back relax and catch up with friends. Try their Turkish apple tea and if you are hungry try some food from the limited but tasty menu. All food is vegetarian but due to the relaxed atmosphere be prepared to wait a while to get served. Not good if you are in a hurry but a good place for a Saturday afternoon. Don't forget to check out the nearby second hand book shops.

Big cocktails good steaks
Ok it is a chain restaurant but that doesn't make it all bad. TGIs has good American diner type food. With tasty wings and ribs to steaks of all sizes. You can make it as cheap or expensive as you like here so good if you are out with a group of friends with a variety of budgets. They also do a wide range of cocktails. These come in different sizes one of which is the size of a small goldfish bowl and will make it hard for you to see straight when you leave. Go for anything with Jack Daniels sauce and have a cocktail for a fun night out.

Perfect kebabs
Kebabish does the tastiest kebabs in Glasgow. This restaurant is situated on Victoria road and is easily accessible from anywhere in the centre of Southside. It has recently been refurnished and has nice new decor. The staff are friendly and the menu contains kebabs, curries and other dishes. They do not serve alcohol. The food is tasty and brilliant value for money much better then any take-away in the area and you don't have to do the washing up. This place is always full of people who live in the local area. Give it a try and you will become a regular.

Cocktails and good bar food
Strata is a good place for a few cocktails with the girls and then a bite to eat in the restaurant. The cocktails are well priced and there is everything you can imagine on the menu. If it is not there ask and they will make it for you. The food is good and varied and is perfect if you want a light snack or full blown dinner. They also host brilliant cocktail making nights that give you a chance to try out making cocktails and then gives you a two course dinner afterwards. All in all a good night out.

Looks awful but is actually good
This looks like a very cheap tacky restaurant but in fact it is a good cheap place for tasty authentic Chinese food. The food is served quickly and the portions are a good size. This place is fantastic value for money and always has a few people in at any time of the day or night. It is good for something quick to eat when you are in the centre of Glasgow. Not somewhere for a posh night out but if you are a bit short on cash it is worth a try, cheaper than a take-away and there is no washing up.

Pub food at its finest
The Granary is a brilliant pub. The place has a good atmosphere and it serves brilliant pub grub that is bordering on gastro pub food. There is an extensive menu with everything from burgers to a ploughman’s lunch, you can have something cheap and quick or more expensive but filling. It has a good selection on beers and wines and is perfect for a Sunday lunch after a hard Saturday night with friends. It is in Shawlands so after a bit of a wander through Queen's Park or a bit of shopping pop in here for something to eat and a good chat with friends.

Good for an Italian restaurant
The Italian Kitchen is good considering it is an Italian restaurant. I often feel as if I could make the food better and more cheaply than when I go to an Italian restaurant. I think this restaurant is an exception to that. I went here with friends after a few drinks out in Merchant city and was happy to find a restaurant that was not fully booked on a Friday night. The service was good and friendly. Food was above average and filling. Not the best restaurant in the world but worth it if you are a bit peckish. Try the pizzas but they are huge.

Chain tapas but still good
La Tasca is a chain restaurant but it still serves good food at a good price. The place gets very busy most nights so it is worth trying to book a table or get there early. I think even though this is a chain restaurant it is much better than the other Tapas restaurant in Glasgow city centre, Cafe Andaluz. The service is efficient and there are all the old tapas favourites on the menus such as patatas bravas. Check out their website for good offers. At lunchtime they guarantee service within 15 minutes (I think). This is cheap tasty fast food.
