Good Music Venue
This venue is located on Byers Road in the West End of Glasgow. It's a bit funny arriving at the Oran Mor and taking a look at the historical outside knowing that inside you are going to see a gig. The building itself, an old church, is beautiful and unique as far as music venues go. Gigs are held in the basement and the space is pretty small and intimate similar to King Tut's. Since the venue is located in the west end there's no chance of pint throwing into the crowd here. The sound quality is really good and most anywhere is a good place to see the band from. There are also seats at either wall if you prefer to relax at a gig.

Great Find
Lupe Pinto's Deli is located on Great Western Road in the West End of Glasgow. I am American and have lived in Scotland for about 2 years now and I find myself sometimes longing for the creature comforts of home. When a friend who moved to Scotland from abroad told me about Lupe Pinto's I was so grateful. They had items like Fluff, grape jelly, Skippy which are all my favorites. Another great thing about Lupe Pinto's is that you can order items online if you cannot make it to the store. I also found loads of Spanish food items to use when I cook. They have a little bit of everything from most countries which is really nice to try different foods while still buying your favorites.

An Ok Venue
The Barrowlands is near the Barras in Glasgow which makes it a little bit further to get to than some of the other venues within the city center. It is a much bigger venue than King Tut's although the crowd is totally different here. There is usually the people here that like to throw half full pint cups into the crowd, so you have to been on your guard that you don't smacked in the head with one. They have a coatroom to check any items which is about £1 per item so that's pretty reasonable. Since the venue is bigger you have a much better chance if you are shorter that a tall person will stand in front of you and it will be hard to see. I usually stand farther to the back or side in order to see the band and avoid any flying pints. The sound quality is usually pretty good here.

Good cinema
This cinema now owned by the company Cineworld is located near the Buchanan Galleries Shopping Center. While it's true that the tickets are a bit expensive, I have found that their prices are not much different than other cinemas. The cinema offers a wide range of movies and times. You can also take advantage of "Orange Wednesdays" here since they participate. So you can buy one ticket and get the second free which is a pretty good deal. I would not recommend buying snacks at the cinema though because the prices are extremely high. Getting popcorn and drink can cost almost as much as the movie tickets. All the theaters are clean with plenty of seats, although I would recommend going at a least busy time for a more enjoyable experience.

Good Takeaway
This takeaway is located right across from the church on Church Street in Larkhall. is Good prices and extensive menu. There are enough variation of dishes on the menu including European to please everyone. If ordering food for the delivery it will usually take about 20 minutes to arrive. The delivery people and the people in the actual takeaway are all very friendly. The chicken curry, spare ribs, and chicken noodle soup are my favorite dishes on their menu. They also do specials for 2,4, or 6 people. We sometimes order the "meal for 2" special and it actually ends up feeding 4 people. The curry comes with the choice of ordering chopped chicken breast which I would recommend. I do not like spicy foods and the curry isn't too spicy for me which I like.

Good Food
Hardie's is located right behind the New Cross Shopping Center in Hamilton. This place is great is you want homemade British food. Their lentil soup with a side of crusty bread and butter is the perfect cure to a cold day. Prices are more than reasonable, probably the cheapest of any pub I've been to. The staff are all friendly and helpful. I recommend the vegetable lasagna or the steak pie both delicious. The desserts are a good size and tasty as well. For two people the bill is usually no more than £12. They serve food from 2-4pm and also offer a 2 course special menu. The offer is two courses for £5.25.

A Little Gem
The Chatelherault Inn is located near the Chatelherault train station. This is a great little restaurant that serves excellent food. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The prices are more than reasonable and they often offer a pre-theater menu before 4pm for an even better deal. I love ordering the penne napoli or the bbq chicken. The portions are a good size for the prices. The desserts are great too a varied selection of ice cream, pies, and cakes. My husband and I had our second wedding reception in their function suite. The suite is free you just have to hire their DJ which is about £110. You won't find anywhere else that will do a deal like that. The DJ is very nice and plays a great selection of music and the suite fits about 130 people.

Yummy
John Carrigan's Eating House is located at the very top end of Hamilton. I went to this restaurant for dinner as part of an anniversary celebration. Before going to the celebration I had never heard of the restaurant before, but I found out what I was missing! The food was absolutely delicious. The prices were reasonable for the huge portions of food that are served. The menu is a mix of British with a bit of Chinese and American. The desserts are as yummy as the main courses. Although you would be lucky to make it to dessert since finishing the main course is a feat in itself. The staff are all friendly and the atmosphere is very relaxed. Members of the party ordered burgers, fish, and curry and all dishes were enjoyed.

Great Little Venue
King Tut's Wah Wah Gut is located on St. Vincent's Street near Charing Cross in Glasgow. I love going to gigs in this venue. The small, intimate atmosphere of this place makes the music that much better. I would advise getting to any gig a bit early to make sure you can get one of the coveted seats in the space near the stage. Since the venue is so small every spot in the place is a prime spot for watching the band. Bands always seem more relaxed when they play this venue because there is much more band to crowd interaction which makes for a great gig. Unlike other places I have been everyone that attends a gig at King Tut's is respectful of the place and isn't intending on throwing half full pints into the crowd or anything like that, which makes the night that much more enjoyable.

Good Buffet
Star Walk is located on Bath Street in Glasgow. It is a good restaurant to go to if you can't decide what to order and want to try a little bit of everything. There is a variety of dishes on the buffet such as: curry, egg fried rice, spring rolls, black bean chicken, onion rings, chips and so on. There is also a smaller buffet to make your own salad. All the salad ingredients are very fresh and tasty. The also offer chicken noodle soup and desserts. The desserts are yummy ranging from apple strudel to chocolate cake. The best part is they have an ice cream machine so you can have ice cream on top of any dessert or make your own sundae! The buffet is reasonably priced and you usually get a better deal going in before 6pm. The staff are all very friendly which is a plus.
