Han Court chinese restuarant is located in Fremington opposite the Fox and hounds and new Inn pubs. It is a big place which is impeccably decorated giving it a very classy feel. The main business is a restaurant but they also do a takeaway service which is located at the back of the restaurant. You will probably need to book as it is a very popular restaurant for family meals and celebrations . The food is excellent, a vast choice and well prepared. The service is brilliant. the only downside is the price, it is on the expensive side but in this case you do get what you pay for.

Nice place to stay
The Cedars Lodge inn is situated at the top of Sticklepath hill on the outskirts of Barnstaple. it consistes of a large main building with function halls and restaurants and separate high quality lodges that you can stay in. I had my wedding receprion here and is very well organised for us, the food was great and the lodge was lovely to stay in instead of having to travel home. Its not a cheap place but the money is worth it. they also hold a lot of functions there such as wedding fairs,antique fairs and sales.
The resturant is lovely with a lot of glass which gives it a light and airy feel and the food is excellent.

This branch of mcdonalds is situated just on the outskirts of Barnstaple in whiddon valley. It is a medium sized branch with a restaurant, takeaway and drive through. being located just off the link road it does get very busy at peak times. The service in the restaurant itself is generally good but the drive through can be slow, needing you to park up and wait some of the time which really isnt the point of a drive through. a few times i have had things left off my order which i have had to go back and rectify. in general though it is a clean and tidy restaurant with the food well cooked and hot.

The Wimpy restaurant is located in Barnstaple High Street, it is a well established branch in the town and as there is no mcdonalds in the town centre they do get very busy. They do the normal wimpy range of burgers,chips and desserts. Prices can be quite dear especially if you have an entire family to pay for. The restaurant is big with an additional entrance just off the green lanes shopping centre. Service in the restaurant side is good especially at breakfast time but the service in the takeaway can be quite slow at times. They do a quorn burger for vegetarians which makes a nice change from the normal veggieburger.

Good chinese
The Langson house chinese restaurant is situated in bear street barnstaple. It is a family run restaurant and always looks clean and tidy. They do the normal wide range of chinese food but also fish and chips, sausages ,fish cakes etc so is ideal for the family where someone likes chinese but others would prefer just fish and chips. The chinese food is very good . The sweet and sour chicken especially is excellent and is highly recommended- but i do find the western food a bit over greasy occasionally. It is just a takeaway there are no facilities to eat in this restaurant.

Friendship house is situated just off the square in barnstaple at the end of Bouport Street. It is a reasonably sized restaurant serving basic food such as jacket potatoes and sandwiches. If you are after somewhere to eat at a very reasonable price then this is the place to go. there are no frills or fancy decor but the staff are lovely, the choice is adequate and there are always some lovely cakes to have at the end of your meal.If you are just looking for somewhere to pop in for a cup of tea or coffee ,or a snack lunch to revive you in the middle of your shopping trip then Friendship house is for you.

Fiascos sandwich shop is situated at the end of Barnstaple high street opposite the Royal Fortescue hotel,
It caters for takeaway customers but also has a small restaurant at the back of the shop. The restuarant does get very busy so booking is recommended. The takeaway doe a huge range of food including homity pie, scotch eggs, sandwiches,pies and salads. There is a large choice of sandwich fillings to choose from and a choice of white,brown or granary bread which is always fresh. The salad boxes are especially popular and great value for money.the premises are always clean and the staff are very polite and friendly

Ideal for lunch
Cafecinos is situated on the Barnstaple High Street with the entrance just inside the Pannier Market. A relatively small cafe it is always very busy and you may well have to wait for a table. the wait is well worth it though but if you cant wait that long they also do a take away service. They do a vast range of meals from a cooked breakfast( including a vegetarian version) to sandwiches which are served with salad and crisps to fresh homemade soups and a lot more besides. the service is good but can be a bit slow due to the popularity of the cafe.

Great place
Alexanders Sandwich bar is situated in Boutport street in Barnstaple.Run by two lovely guys it is a great place with a wide choice of sandwich fillings.The bread for the sandwiches is the best i have tasted and the fillings are so thick you almost need a knife and fork to eat them!The premises which have been recently reburbished are always clean and spotless and the food is freshly prepared and delicious. Apart from the sandwiches they also do a range of salad boxes with chicken,ham egg or cheese which are really popular and takeaway desserts such as strawberries and cream or yogurts. They also stock a range of drinks.

Baps and bloomers is situated in boutport street Barnstaple, just off the High Street. They have facilities to eat in and takeway and also some chairs outside on the rare occasion that the sun shines! They do a wide range of food from fried breakfasts to sandwiches and jacket potatoes. The food is freshly prepared and is always wonderful,prices are reasonable and portions are big. The staff are brilliant and bend over backwards to do what they can for you.They open early in the morning so an ideal place to pop in for a naughty fried breakfast before you start shopping.
