Loved it! Great choice of food - lots of different types. Pizza, burgers, fish, noodles, salads, chicken ... the list is endless! You couldn't fit this restaurant into a specific 'type' - it offers so many different varieties of food! The service is great, and the food, although cooked to order, is served very quickly andn is always piping hot. The portion sizes are really good - enough to fill you up without leaving you feeling 'bagged up'.

The beer-battered haddock is my particular favourite - very, very light batter and the fish is very juicy. The thin chips accompanyting it are very more-ish. Great little place for a bite to eat with friends.

Overpriced!
I wasnt fussy on this Italian at all. The decor was very old-fashioned, and the seating area was 'cosy'. The tables were quite close together. Just as well it wasn't busy (I found this odd actually, as it was dinner time on a Friday and nowhere else in the surrounding area was able to offer us a table). The food was ok I suppose - quite boring. The soup wasn't worth the money, and was very watery. The bread that came with it was so thin that it couldn't be buttered without being ripped to shreds! The main course (pasta carbonara) again was 'ok' - the sauce was almost as watery as the soup, and there was hardly any ham to be seen.
OK if everywhere else is fully booked, but wouldn't choose to go back regularly.

Decent enough, although over-priced
I thought I was onto a winner - found this place on 5pm, and was advertising 2 courses for £13, which I thought was very reasonable. I took my husband and 2 of our friends, and we thought we'd have great food at a very reasonable price. We ordered 2 bottles of wine between the 2 ladies, and the lads had 3 beers each. We enjoyed our satay starters, and our noodle dishes for main course and put in £20 each (which we figured would be more than enough for the cheap meals and the drinks). Then the bill came. £130!!!!! We couldn't believe it! £6 for each of the bottles of beer, and over £20 each for the bottles of wine!

So much for our cheap night out! Don't think we'll be going back too often!

A Chinese McDonalds!
This is a grubby little place, which seems like old men should be in! The food, I have to say, is tasty but I wasn't too sure about the cleanliness of the place. The bathroom is away down the stairs, along a little dark corridor. Not ideal!

There's a fair enough choice (although there's a big Chinese menu on the wall which I assume is more extensive than the limited English menu). The portion sizes are good, and the food tastes good enough.

To be honest, I'd only eat from here after a drunken night out. It's not the sort of place you would go to for a sit-down meal with family or friends, but does the job when you have the 'drunken munchies'.

China's little star!
I stumbled accross the Kai Xin by accident - but I'm so glad I did! The owner and the assistant manager are the friendliest, most helpful people ever! You can't help but laugh at their infectious little giggles, and they remember you after only one visit, which I think is great. I like the personal touch. They were very accommodating when we took our little girl too, and heated her bottle for us (I've found not a lot of places are happy to do this).

The food is amazing - a great range, very authentic. The spicy chicken is a particular favourite of mine. Very light batter, and gorgeous, spicy sauce.

A little out of the way, but well worth a visit!

One of my favourite places to eat. I'd advise making a booking though, especially at weekends when it is regularly queued out the door! The starters are great, especially the 'half pasta' option - a half portion of ANY pasta dish on the main menu. Means you can have something different for your main course, which I like to do. The potato skins are to die for - oozing with bubbly cheese, and packed with bacon. I could definitely eat 2 portions of these instead of a main course!

Their Ying Yang chicken is my favourtie dish in any restaurant - big, succulent pieces of battered chicken in a red, spicy, barbeque-y sauce. Perfect with the little tub of sour cream that sits on the side of your plate.

The waiting staff are great, all of different nationalities and all very friendly. One of my favourite restaurants!

Totally American!
This place is great. Feels like you've stepped into a real, genuine American diner. OK, so the menu choice isn't that exciting (steaks, chicken, burgers) but the dishes tase fab. American-sized portions too, so great value for money. The starters are a meal in themselves - I ordered breaded mushrooms. Now, normlly you'd get about 6 or 7 in a starter portion - these came in a basket, filled to the brim. There must've been about 40 of them! More than enough to share. The chips are fab - they put some kind of coating on them - they taste almost poeppery - love them!

Although the staff are a bit 'cheesy' (trying a bit too hard to be American I think!) they're helpful and friendly. All round, TGIs is a great place to eat.

Glorified chippy!
I could not believe the prices in here! Fish and chips cost almost double what they do in a standard chippy, and the quality doesn't justify that! Although the food is cooked to order, I found it to be very greasy, and the batter on my fish was 'heavy'. The chips were ok, although a bit firmer than I normally like - verging on undercooked. I couldn't understand why the place was so busy to be honest - there are much cheaper, better quality chippies not too far away!

On a more positive note, the staff were lovely. Chatty (without being too personal) and attentive (without being too intrusive).

Cheap 'n' cheerful
This pizza restaurant is situated in the heart of the City, and is very attractive from the outside. Modern, clean and fresh. The staff are very helpful (without being intrusive). The menu is varied (original pizza recipe ideas which appealed) and includes pastas, salads and a wide range of sides. The thing that clinched it for me was the 'white sauce' pizza. Not being a big fan of tomato based sauces I thought I'd give this a go for a change. And I'm so glad I did! Tasted like a very mild cheese sauce, and the pizza itself was generously topped with chicken, mushrooms & red onion. Perfect combination. Reasonable prices too. One of my favourites!

I'm not too fussy on this one to be honest. I'd heard great things about it from friends and family, but wasn't at all impressed when I went for dinner. Unfortunately, I took my mum as a mother's day treat - I wish I hadn't bothered! It was expensive (much more so than the surrounding restaurants' mother's day menus), and had little choice. The food was ok, but nothing to shout about.

The waiting staff seemed (for want of a better expression) arrogant, and they appeared to want us out as quickly as possible. Pretty much as soon as out last mouthful had been eaten, our plates were whisked away and the next course choices shoved under our noses, and the waitor stood tapping his pen on his notebook while we were trying to decide what we wanted!

Needless to say, I won't be going back.
