To sum it up in 2 words: overpriced headache. I've been to this place probably 6-7 times over the last few years, and while I remember liking it at first, in the recent past my thought everytime has been, "We have to remember not to come here again." They usually have some kind of live music on saturday nights, and it's usually the equivalent of a wedding band--lots of cheesy covers and no real sense of flavor. Last night (as usual) the band was playing way too loud. As someone whose fiance plays in a band and who goes to see live music all the time, I'm no stranger to volume, but this was ridiculous. By the time I left, I had the worst headache from screaming across our table to talk to our friends, and all of us spent most of the night praying for a set break. This was especially annoying since we paid $50 in covers between the four of us to see the crappy, too-loud band. To add insult to injury, our bill for 3 beers and 2 vodka tonics came to $34, which is more like city prices than port jeff prices. What I will say in their favor is that it's a nice space--private sections you can reserve with comfy couches, tables in the back, a nice ambience, a dance floor, and plenty of room IF you get lucky and it's not crowded. However, expect a hefty cover charge if you're headed there on a weekend.
