Amazing cafe
I love this place. It's a visually amazing Moroccan cafe with a very relxed and cosy atmosphere. The staff are really good, the guy who runs it is kind and sweet and they will make stuff to your requirements if you are at all fussy. Usually I got there for the unique green tea chai. You can have it either with steamed milk or water, and it's sweet and spicy and unlike other chai. They do great ice cream too. The warm atmosphere extends to an upstairs room which is a total chill out zone, you can hire it for parties for free I think. They have a website at http://www.oranaise-cafe.co.uk/ but it doesn't have all that much info on it.

Sticky floors and mellow vibes
when i first went to this underground dive i loved the eighties feel of it, i felt like i was on the set of a youth tv show from that era. after many visits my main feeling is the stickiness of the floors, like they have never been washed. the sound is pretty bad too. if you can get over this and if you love Radiohead and Joanna Newsome and a bunch of obscure stuff I would recommend Idioteque (2nd Friday of each month, £3 or £4 to get in) as the friendliest indie night ever. there are other rad nights on throughout the week too.
