Lovely food
I absolutely love this place and, despite it being out of my way, I always make a special effort to get there once a month. The pub has a homely feel and seems popular with locals. I like this pub for the food, which is excellent. I have sampled various dishes from sausage and mash to tikka masala but my favourite is the roast beef baguette and roast potatoes. The menu is quite extensive (and includes a kids menu) and there are also specials on the blackboard. The prices are very reaonable and the staff welcoming. I would highly recommend this place.

Spectacular toilets
Pacific is a large, glass-fronted bar just off the main shopping street in Newcastle upon Tyne. Through the day, it is host to weary shoppers grabbing a bite to eat on one of the upper floors (there are three floors in total). Outside of office hours, workers from the city centre often go to unwind but at weekends, it is full of revellers. Being quite close to St James' Park, there are often supporters there pre or post match.
The food is nice enough and reasonable in place and the toilets are very nice (a little futuristic).

Homely with good food
This is a great place if you like generous helpings of staple food in a pleasant atmosphere. It is a lot bigger than it look from outside, with various open-plan rooms shooting off from the bar area.
The ceilings are high and arched and have exposed beams, all of which makes this establishment feel spacious and airy.
Apparently the pub was a run-down old farmhouse about 20 years ago but it has been expertly renovated and improved. There's a good selection of food, including traditional roasts. When I went, I opted for a roast beef dinner. It was reasonably priced at around £7 and didn't disappoint. My plate contained a good amount of roast beef and yorkshire pudding only, with the potatoes and vegetables in a separate dish. I left feeling more than satisfied. Recommended

Good cinema, car parking a problem at times
I like this cinema as, in my opinion, the seats are more comfortable than others in the area. As is typical of most cinemas, there is the usual pick n mix area, Ben and Jerrys and a further area for popcorn, hot dogs, soft drinks, etc.
The cinema is located near to Asda store and there are eateries in the vicinity as well, Pizza Hut, McDonalds and others. A major problem with this cinema is the lack of car parking. Quite simply, the amount of car parking spaces is inadequate for the cinema alone (particularly if there is a major film release like Batman), let alone the other establishments. This results is many patrons parking in the Asda car park nearby.

Empire cinema, The Gate
The Empire is in The Gate complex in Newcastle upon Tyne centre and, as such, has an enviable location in comparison to some other cinemas. Strangely, it never seems to be particularly full; I find this quite surprising as I think it's perfectly positioned to enable patrons to make a night of of it and get something to eat or drink beforehand or afterwards.
In my opinion, what sets the Empire apart is the professionalism of the staff. All employees I have dealt with have been courteous and friendly and will go out of their way to help with any problems. I would recommended the Empire to anyone.

Good first bar
The Fire Station is a Wetherspoons pub and so named as it is sited where a genuine Fire station used to be (there's a fireman's pole still in the bar). It is a decent enough bar for a breakfast, lunch or evening meal from Mon to Thurs. However, if you go Fri to Sun, you could well find yourself surrounded by drunk or hungover stags and hens.
The pub seems to be a popular early bar for those intent on enjoying the unique drinking establishments of Whitley Bay. Those same Fri or Sat revellers may well be back in there on the Sat or Sun morning for a much needed full english to help with the after-effects of too much alcohol the night before.

Lovely food
This is a lovely place to go for something to eat. It has a reasonable menu but what makes it so good is the daily specials it offers. These specials offer a starter and main course or a main course and pudding for around a fiver! The best thing is that you can find out a whole week's worth of specials at the beginning of the week. The pub also has theme nights such as curry night, quiz night, etc.
Diners are separated from the drinkers and the room for diners in very cosy. The staff are delightful and very friendly. I would recommend this pub for nice, no-frills pub grub.

Great location, decent food
Located on Tynemouth Front street and not far from Tynemouth priory is the Salutation Inn. It's a decent enough pub, serving very reasonably priced food (some things on the menu are 2 for £7.95). The wait was a little long when we were there but it was a nice day so lots of people had made a beeline for the beach and it was very busy. The tables could be better positioned as I was constantly having my chair knocked by passing customers. On the day I visited, I used public transport but I would imagine, if driving, there could be an issue with parking availability (especially when the weather is nice and people have flocked to the beach)

70's theme
Probably more popular with the 30+ crowd, Flares is similar to other Flares' throughout the UK. It can be quiet early on but does liven up from 10pm onwards and stays lively until it closes in the early hours. The dancefloor is relatively small but you'll be amazed at how many people can actually fit onto it! The drinks are around the same price as you'll pay elsewhere in Newcastle centre. All in all, a popular haunt for those who aren't ready to hand their dancing shoes up yet and still like to go out, let their hair down and have a laugh!

Unacceptable wait
OK so I might just have caught this particular Pizza Hut having a bad day but I cannot thinks of anything positive about this restaurant. Firstly, we were made to queue at the door for 15 minutes, despite being able to see at least a dozen empty seats through the window! Also, Pizza hut were running a promotion whereby patrons would receive 50% off their bill so that may have encouraged more customers than usual to dine that particular night.
Nonetheless, I found the service poor although the food was of the standard you come to expect from Pizza Hut. My husband asked for salad with his meal, it didn't arrive as the waitress forgot about it! It's a pity her forgetfulness didn't extend to the bill as they tried to charge us for it!
All in in, it's a Pizza hut so the food is reasonable enough but the service is poor. On a positive note, it is better than the nearby Wetherspoons!
