Having visited many of brightons italian themed restaurants I must say that this one is on the whole ok. Value for money during the week but slightly more to eat there at weekends and the place is generally heaving with people. The service is a little lack lustre and the usual 10 percent service charge, which is rife in brighton is added, the service in most brighton eateries is much the same. We have been several times and would go again, but not at weekends, when it really is too busy and not worth the wait. The set menus are good value, but the price of these increases at weekends and evenings. Lots of pics of semi famous celebs who have visited this place adorn the stairwell too.

Is this a true rival for choccy woccy doodah across the road, well honestly yes, it is, a cheaper rival with less imagination, but jolly tasty never the less. We usually look longingly at the over priced under rated creations in the former shop, then nip in to this one for some thing a bit more fairly priced. The king sized chocolate buttons are lovely and come in white, milk and a nice dark chocolate. The chili chocolate is good too. Some times they have also had chocolate dipped strawberries which are nice. It is really worth a naughty little vsist, sshhh.. dont tell your friends they will all want some, tell them to get their own.

Brighton pier looks good when all the lights are on at night, as you drive along the main sea front road. It is free to go on to the pier for a walk or to take in the other sights and sounds that it has to offer. We found that basic pier fayre such as doughnuts, ice cream etc, were a little over priced, but its not like you eat them all the time. There are rides and a pub too, if thats your thing. You do get great views if you can be bothered to walk on a bit longer, but thats about it really. Its worth a visit, if only to say you have seen it.

The se life centre at brighton sea front is a little over priced. THe entrance fee is way too high for families as there is just not enough to see or do there. Your visit would ta ke around an hour and a half at the most and places like colchester zoo which have an entrance fee of only slightly more give you a whole days entertainment. The building which the centre occupies, is very interesting and has a lot of history to it, but on the whole we found it a little lacking. Ii is very close to the sea front and there is parking near by. We would not go again but can say we have seen it. The high light was the beautiful turtle that is there at the centre and the large pool it is housed in, with a tunnel you can walk under to view the fish etc swimming above, other wise there is not much you haven t seen, london aquarium is better. Brighton itself is great though.

Fit for a king
We have been to brighton so many times and each time failed to visit the royal pavilion. This visit we finally went to see what all the fuss was about and we were delighted by what we saw. The exterior is amazing but you do take it for granted a bit when driving past it on brightons busy roads. The interior has some truly stunning rooms. Much of the pavilion has been restored to its former glory but lots of the original features remain. The main dining hall is staggeringly beautiful and over the top, the chandeliers are breath taking. It is all in an approximation of oriental style, dragons, snakes, bamboo, etc are every where. But the former owner was the prince regent and laterly the king, so it is to be expected. Queen Victoria did not like it, but we did. It is really worth a visit, honest.

King of the hill
The lion king which we saw at the lyceum theatre was a delight from start to finish. The moment the show began the cast members dressed as their characters began to file through the theatre, parading past our seats in the stalls. You really do have to get used to the idea that you need to see the character not the human form in side the costume, but once you do that you really begin to enjoy the story. The songs are well known and that makes it easier for you to get into the mood of the show. Kids will love it and it is very cleverly done. The usual lack of leg room and hard seats should get a small mention, but they did not spoil our enjoyment.

the real deal
We went to see the show at this theatre and loved every minute of it, from the first few bars of music onwards. The seats we had were right up in the highest tier and we were a little unhappy with our seats in the beginning but once the show began we were transported into the imaginary world of the phantom of the opera. We did have to lean a little to get a better view but we still enjoyed the performance. The bar was packed in the interval and was really over priced, how these theatres justify these over inflated prices I just do not know, it is a real rip off. But you can take your own mineral water or soft drink in, so thats the answer really. Book better seats if you can afford to, its worth the extra for a better view.

loved it
This theatre is a little of the main roads and a bit hard to find. We rencently saw chicago there and we really enjoyed the show. Our seats were about 6 rows from the front so we could see really well, but the seats as in most of these old theatres are not all that comfy, not much leg room etc. We thought the lady who played mama morton was good as was roxy's long suffering hubby, ( a well known tv actor). The cast and band were great and it was an enjoyable evening for us. My only real grouch is the price of soft drinks and ice creams which were really high, too much if there are three or four of you. Other than that it was a good show well performed.

Thorntons choccies never fail to please, the ice creams are lovely too. There is also a range of diabetic chocolates for those who need them. The individual bags of different varieties are always good value for money. I often give thorntons chocolate selection boxes as gifts, they usually go down well. You can also get gift vouchers to give as gifts for the times when you are unsure of exactly what to choose. Whilst in store it is sooo tempting to get your self some thing as a treat too, but hey, thats what this shop is all about, treating yourself. Wish they still did the chocolate orange ice cream though as it was scrummy.

Yummy
Wagamama in spite of its curious name is a great eatery, in the heart of this area. The kids love it, its great for kids, families, students in fact, it is great for noodle lovers every where. I have yet to try the soups but am always tempted when I see them being delivered to people, they look really scrummy and piping hot. The meals at this place are very filling and great value for money. Very relaxed places to eat, if a little noisy, but of course the more popular the restaurant the more customers and therefore more noise. But I actually think it is just part of the whole experience.
