Tasty Indian
Naz is an Indian restaurant on Church Street in Twickenham. It’s not huge, but is rarely that busy and offers very tasty food. My favourite Indian restaurant in Twickenham used to be Pallavi in central Twickenham but that has unfortunately quite recently shut down much to my surprise. Naz is a pretty good substitute though. As with most Indian restaurants, it has quite an extensive menu, varying in spiciness. If you are looking for a good Indian in Twickenham then I would recommend this place, there is also the Taste of Mogul restaurant on York Street which is tasty as well.

Surprisingly good
Brula is a very nice restaurant serving excellent French cuisine. The restaurant is located in St. Margarets on Crown Road, which is not a location you would expect a great restaurant, and it is not that huge, but is surprisingly tasty, it is probably the best French restaurant in Twickenham. It is a great place for a nice meal out, and its steaks are very tasty indeed. And it is pretty reasonably priced unlike some overpriced restaurants in Twickenham which are not even that good. If you are looking for a French meal in Twickenham then I would definitely recommend this.

Fantastic
The National Gallery is a fantastic museum filled with older works of art (for more modern fare head over to Tate Modern on the Southbank), pre 20th century. It is in a fantastic location, literally forming on the sides of Trafalagar Square, so it is pretty hard to miss. And I don’t think you even have to pay to go in, so it is definitely worth going to. It has some wonderful works of art in there, my favourites are the Vermeer and the Velazquez but there is really a huge selection. I would definitely recommend visiting the National Gallery if you’re in the area.

If you are looking for a good Indian in Twickenham then I would recommend this place, there is also Naz in church street which is good.

Great place
Wagamama is chain of Japanese restaurants, which offers a wide selection of dishes, in the style of noodle bar. The noodles are really very good, and as it’s a chain the prices are pretty reasonable too. There is communal seating on long benches which is fun, and the service is brisk and professional. Unfortunately there has recently been a fire at the Richmond wagamama so I am not sure if it’s open at the moment but I’m sure it will reopen soon, and there are branches all over the place in the meantime. If you like Japanese food then you should definitely give it a go.

Quite good
Pizza Al Rollo is a relatively new pizza restaurant that is located in Richmond which offers pizzas by the yard. I do really like this method of serving pizza, it’s very innovative and quite authentically Italian, I’ve been to restaurants in Italy which do the same. The pizzas were OK but not great unfortunately – to be honest I much prefer the taste of Strada or Pizza Express pizzas to these. However you can still have a fun evening out a Pizza al rollo, it is a really great place to go for larger groups, but don’t expect the taste to be the best part.

Excellent
Strada is a fantastic Italian chain of restaurants. Its pizzas which are cooked in the wood oven ‘forno a legna’ are really extremely tasty and its other dishes are all great too. I like that they offer you free filtered water which you don’t have to pay for, it makes a change from all the mineral water places charge high prices for. The pesto pizza breads as a starter are my favourite, I always have them and would recommend them to all – even if you’re going to have a pizza for your main course! Strada is a great chain and this restaurant is no exception.

Good chain
Zizzi’s are a great chain of Italian restaurants with excellent food. I remember I started going here a few years ago when Pizza Express was going downhill, and thinking that it was much better, but Pizza Express has revamped its menu since and so I do actually prefer it to Zizzi’s now for pizzas. But for pastas and meat dishes I still think Zizzi is better, my favourite is the chicken with parma ham which is delicious. Richmond has a Strada, a Pizza Express and a Zizzi and I do find myself going to Zizzi least often of these three, but it’s still very nice.

Great Day Out
London zoo is a great day out for a family - I remember going when I was very young and I remember that I had a really great time. Since it is in central London – the zoo is located in regent’s park – the prices are quite expensive but there is nothing else like it in London. The penguins are great, as are the elephants. It is really a fun day expedition to go to the zoo. The restaurant and cafe at the zoo are not very good however, and are over priced, I would not recommend going to either of them.

My favouite museum in London
The tate modern is my favourite art museum in London. Although I do not like the outside very much, I find it a bit gray and drab, but inside the galleries are very impressive indeed. The big hall where you enter (I do tend to enter from the side entrance rather than the side facing the river) is very huge and impressive, and usually houses an impressive work of art. The permanent collection that the Tate has on display is very good and the non permanent exhibitions which change quite frequently are very good also. You should definitely go if you’ve never been.
