this has to be the worst supermarket ever. They are constantly moving the aisles around so you can't find what you want quickly. There are never enough staff at the checkouts. Getting a space at the parent and child parking is a nightmare as not enough spaces. The staff that there do try to be helpful but there aren't enough of them to do a good job. The clothes department never seem to have sufficient sizes about 14 so if you like something its tough. Try a different supermarket would be my advice I only go when the offers are too go to miss

If you are wanting to splash the cash on a meal out and impress your lady or business associate then this is your place. I have been for some of their meal deals they offer once a month, and if the standard of food on those occassions is anything to go by then, this is seriously good food. But it comes at a seriously big price The wine list is wide and varied. If you were thinking of going there on a race day especially the Ebor meet then booking is essential. For a more relaxed atmosphere the sister bistro Melton's too is going to be more your style

If you are in need of a pick me up then this is the place for you. The beauty treatments on offer here are first class. I haven't seen the Alquimia products elsewhere but the natural blends of essential oils certainly easy away your cares. Having treated myself to various products here I can recommend the back massages, facials and manicures. The staff are friendly and focus on your every need in a quiet and professional manner no idle chit chat here to spoil your relaxation just massaging away the knots. I have also had their waxing treatments and have to say it has bean the most pain free waxing I have ever had.

great quality drama
This theatre provides great quality drama for the majority of the year with a full and varied programme of plays musicals comedy. They also provide some children's Play in the smaller theatre having not been to any these I can't comment but the adult drama is great. Once a year Berwick Kaller puts on his annual pantomine and if you haven't seen one you haven't lived it is pantomime at its best and most traditional now Australian soaps starts in the cast just great quality actors who have roles for years.
The food on sale here is also good and lunchtime and matinees can combine to a pleasant experience

not my first choice
this cinema is in my opinion what is bad about a lot of them, The tickets are very expensive. The booth is often not well staffed enough so there is a huge queue. The toilet facilities are regularly dirty and without toilet roll. The food and drink selection is poor and over priced. The seats once in the cinema are not very comfortable and certainly cause me back ache and being a small person I dread to think what it is like for those people taller than myself. As is the trend with cinemas the adverts go on forever unless a film is very popular I would suggest going 15 Min's after the advertised time. In my opinion you are better off going to city screen

this gem of a hotel situated a short walk from the minster is one of my favorite's and last year we got married there the service we got was brilliant we were talked through the day from start to finish the menu we chose was great the food had none of that mass catering taste so often seen at weddings but was just as fresh and vibrant as you get in either the brassier or the main restaurant. the rooms that we and our guests had were fabulous the bed were comfortable and the breakfast filled all the hungry Scots to their boots!

this chain of italians provides good food at good prices they often do a lunchtime deal of two courses and a drink for £9.50 and bar some of the expensive pasta dishes with lobster etc you can choose what you like. We were there recently with my eight month old son and a clean highchair was provided. The staff were very friendly towards our youngster which given he is a messy eater and noisy was no mean feat. We were holding him they cleaned my plate to he could sit in front of me and not cause a lot of damage. The only downside I think is the house wine is not great.

a treat of a place
This is a gem of a shop just of the market in York. The aromas of the cheeses hit you as you walking the shop. There is a stunning collection of cheese both British and continental. They also offer a great selection of cooked meats and hams. These is a real place to indulge in treat shopping or if you are having a dinner party putting together your cheese board as not only do they have the cheese but they have various different biscuits to go with them. They also have various good quality dry food ingredients. But my husband would say the best thing they do is their sandwiches which are in my opinion the best take out sandwiches in York all hand prepared in front of you hence the long queues!

this is a little piece of heaven the smell of the chocolate as you enter the shop immediately tempts you to buy the shop. the hand made chocolates just melt in you mouth as they release their velvety fillings which include brandy baileys whiskey praline and many others. At Christmas its best to order your stocking fillers of teddy bears and Santa's as these seem to fly of the shelf and having one year made the mistake of not ordering one I have done so in the future. On a hot sunny day the ice cream dipped in the hot chocolate is a must.

great farm shop
this is gem of farm shop to call it just that does it an injustice there is deli counter with mouthwatering selections of cheeses pate pies quiches. the new addition of the butchers counter has added to this with most of the pork being raised on the farm the pork joints give the best crackling i have tasted and the butchers themselves are a font of knowledge on cooking the meat. during the summer there has been pick your own pig racing and currently they have a maize maze. There are events through out the year which add to the shopping experience. my son also loves to see the animals
