A one of a kind experience
Gecko Villa is not a hotel but an entire rural villa with a delightful private swimming pool, set completely off the beaten tourist path in the country's Northeast. It is surrounded by rice paddies, meadows, plantations and woodlands and is supremely private and peaceful.

Two things really made our stay - the people who looked after us there, and the delightful Thai meals that they prepared for us daily (at no extra charge!)It was also great to be able to delve into this undiscovered side of Thailand, yet with knowledgeable locals by our side to tell us where to go and what to see, and to show us the area.

Visit the lake for the pink lotus blooms, the local villages and temples and markets..and do try the Northeaster food...if you can take it spicy, it's delicious!

Highly recommended for those lookind for something different, for romntics, families etc. Not recommened for those seeking a wild nighlife and shopping malls!
