You could easily spend a whole day in here, but sadly we only had a few hours. When it said "Art gallery" I was hugely put off but hey it was FREE and I'm open minded! A large part is an art gallery but it was quite interesting as it showed how canvasses were re-used in the past and different techniques for cleaning up old canvas, so that was good.

There is a major display of animals from the Pleistocene and ahuge plane suspended from the ceilling. Loads and loads and loads of fossils, birds, stuffed animals, etc. and possibly a display on Egypt although I could have that mixed up with somewhere else!!

Worth the visit! Also has a nice cafe!

Brilliant day out!
What an amazing day out this was!! the museum was fantastic it had loads of old buses, trams, cars, bikes, prams - even a train! you name it, it had every mode of transport you could think of!

The most amazing thing about the place is it is totally free! For this calibre of museum I would expect to pay £6+ per adult, but nope completely free!

We went on a weekday, it was relatively quiet but did have a few large school parties who did no harm at all!

It also has a 'mock' old street with shop windows so its like stepping baack to the 1950's which is really really good! We spent about 4 hours in there, there is also a cafe which looked quite good, but we had already eaten.

ALSO - has a replica of Mr Weasley's Ford Anglia from Harry Potter which is super!!

I'm not that into 'transport' but this museum just made it accessible for me and the people with me. Kids and grown ups would love it! Fabulous day out!

Skittle galore!
This is a quiet pub off the beaten track with lovely homely feel to it. Drinks and food are average prices, but there is a lovely atmosphere here. A little dog is a permenant resident here, although you can't feed him, he just mooches around like part of the furniture - very sweet!

The pub has an outdoor courtyard as well as indoor dining area.

Also in the back there is something like the oldest bowling alley in the UK, with wooden skittles, so definitely somewhere to take a group of people. We had a buffet in there which was very nice indeed! Would highly reccommend!

Really enjoyed this day out. Spent about 4 hours looking around the Yacht. It was around £10 to get in, but you can sometimes get ddiscount vouchers online to get 10% off so worth looking before you go! Also really handy to park here and get the bus into Edinburgh its about £1 on the bus and free parking outside of here. Lots of shops and restaurants outside of the Yacht too.

The Yacht itself is great, lots to read and see - I THINK there is a headset tour if my memory serves me right. Definitely visit the fudge shop onboard! It is yummy fudge! Would definitely go back! Wrap up warm on a chilly day as some of the exhibits are outside!

Good but been to better!
I liked dynamic earth a lot, it is probably directed more for kids and not THAT iteractive but it informs you about how the earth was created and various systems on the earth such as glacial system etc. Good for a day out but you couldn't go very often. Think its about £8 per adult to get in so not too bad seeing as it is in the centre of Edinburgh. You can park at Leith (by Royal Yacht Britannia) for free and get the bus in for about £1. It is about a 10min bus ride from Princes Street Gardens, so worth getting the bus to save weary legs!!

Nice decor, very old style and cosy. I feel like I’ve stepped back in time in this pub but in a really nice way! Lots of little snugs and a large bar in the centre of the main room. There are also listed mens toilets (although I've yet to see them being female!) I have to agree with the other review though, its the only place in Liverpool I've been with friends and suffered at the hands of a pickpocket :( Got a phone stolen out of a coat so beware, it seems this is not an isolated incident. I’ve been back since though and no pickpocketing incidents that time!

Literally everything you can think of for chinese food. The setting is lovely, nice large tables to seat many people, and a private room for hire for parties, which could probably fit about 40 people in.

One bad thing - floor is very slippy so watch out in high heels!!

Best chinese I've ever eaten
Unsure about the cost of this huge restaurant as it was a work night out but the food is absolutely amazing! Sweet and Sour Battered fish is a taste experience, loads and loads of food for the banquet and quite honestly the best chinese food I have ever eaten. Large round tables can seat around 12 people so very sociable and plenty of space between tables! We went with Chinese people who also wowed over the food. There is a Chinese supermarket below this which is open throughout the day. Loads of free parking as it is on the dock road, so not a busy area of town. Amazing chinese!

Nice menu, good deals before peak dining times eg. 2 courses for about £12. Of an evening, main courses are around £12-£15 and are 'posh portions' but not too small like some places. I think you might have to pay extra for veg and potatoes, although can't remember off hand. Nice setting and pleasant staff. Bring back the toffee waffle it was amazing! There is an upstairs, downstairs and outside dining area, and is usually very busy on the weekend so always best to book. The only downside is that the tables of 2 are so close together you occasionally feel that you are dining with the table next to you!!

Best place in Liverpool!
The bad points about this bar are that is expensive to get in (£5 on a weekend) and there are massive massive queues on the weekend. However, what makes this the best music venue in Liverpool is the three floors of different music, cheesy pop (1st floor), hip hop (2nd floor) and club music (3rd floor), why go anywhere else in the city?? In the week, usually only the downstairs is open. Plenty of bars throughout the venue. can get crowded and sometimes busy but overall its a great nightout ! students and locals love it! Good place to watch the major football events as loads of screens!
