    Warehouse Project
The Warehouse Project is a series of nightclub events held in the ex boddingtons brewery, manchester, which will be running until the new year (2007).

There are two 'rooms' (for rooms read large industrial hangars) with performers and a bar in each. The drinks are pretty extortionate (3.40 a pop for a bottle of carliing, anyone?). The toilets appear to be temporary portakabin type units, but don't let that put you off - i've see a lot ranker wcs in more permanent accommodation.

I'm told that the location creates an atmosphere reminiscent of warehouse raves from 'back in the day', but I can't say I was old enough for all that at at the time so whether this is an accurate description I don't know.

What I will say however is that the large hollow metal spaces that house the music are not ideal for acoustics. The sound is muddied at best; it's very difficult to make out words etc, although seeing as I went on a dnb night this wasn't much of an issue. If you're used to hitech sound systems with tight, punching bass and a crisp clear high end, coupled with impressive light shows, then you'll probably be disappointed.

The vibe was alright - quite a heavy security presence with random searches of party goers on entry etc but there wasn't any 'simmering tension' that you sometimes get at these events.

To be honest I was left a little disappointed by the sound quality and the performers in general, but apart from that it's not that bad, really. Between 3 & 4 stars probably does it justice.
