Cheap meat
What a great store. Loads of variety but don't expect big name brands. Their special offers on electrical items are usually much cheaper than the big stores. My real reason for going there is the variety and value of their cooked meats but there is so much that's cheaper that I always buy much more than just meat. What you would usually buy as a treat can be an every week thing from Aldi (duck for only £3.69). And don't think that it will taste cheap, it's good quality food. Easily as good as Mark and Spencer. My son actually waits for me to get back to help unpack bags to see what goodies I've bought.
The shop is clean and tidy and the staff are friendly and helpful. Parking isn't usually a problem but I shop late afternoon so it may be different on a weekend with B and Q being next door

The Grand night out
The Grand is a fabulous old building. I've enjoyed many different shows from comedy to plays to panto. They regularly get the newest, up and coming comedians and I have recently seen Lee Evans here. The atmosphere is completely different to newer buildings and it somehow feels more 'special' going to an old theatre.
It doesn't matter where you sit, unless it's restricted viewing, you can always see whoevers on stage. Compare seeing Lee Evans at The Grand to seeing him from the back of Birmingham NEC.
Leg room isn't great even though I was told this would be improved during the refurbishment (and I'm only five feet six). And you can't take drinks from the bar area into the auditorium. Drinks aren't cheap (£2.70 a bottle of lager) but not too expensive.
All in all, a greta night out
