Shorrocks Hill country Club, affectionatly called Shorrocks, is Formbys one and only nightclub and for that we should all be grateful. I think everyone has a love hate relationship with it, after all, when your growing up there's not much choice. So yes. It's cheesy, full of drunken lads and bad music but you love it, because that is all you can do.

It also has a health and fitness club, which was always too expensive for my tastes, a restaurnat, which i've never been to and a banqueting suite that i've never seen, although there have been a lot of weddings there, as there's a quaint little church not fifty metres from it.

Its right on the outskirts of formby next to the road down to the beach and the forests.

Yea! Hippos my favourite "chippy" in all of formby and freshfield .. huge portions and a huge selection of tradtional fish and chips (burgers etc) and also some great chinese options. Its a stones throw from the Grapes pub, where we all used to hangout all the time, so i've stumbled into it many times for a goodie bag before bed. The staff are allways very friendly and dont mind joking around with you after you've had a few. Great prices, great menu, great portions .. it is enough to fill up a hungry hippo!

Im sure i remember being taken to Don luigi's as a child and it's been around a lot longer than that. we used to go there for birthdays and special events ;-) So there's a place in my heart for the most famous itaian restuarant in formby!
It's open seven days a week, for both lunch and dinner with an al a carte. as you'd expect from an italian restuarant it has the usual range of pastas ant-pastas and pizzas and a great slection of wines and champagnes (bollinger @ £50 and dom perignon vintage and cristal @ £130+) so it's not your average pizza parlour/itaian restuarant. all joking aside its a lovely restuarant, with a great atmosphere and some beautful traditional italian food.

One of the few wi-fi hotspots in formby Caffe Nero is found on chapel lane, the busy centre of Formby, not! What can you say about a chain like caffe nero? They are pretty much the same deal all around the world and formbys additon to the franchised chain is just what you'd expect, selling the same drinks, in the same cups, in the same decor in a different place. at least the one in formby is extremly clean and the staff are nice and friendly.just a stones throw from the local park, you can walk of your coffee high in some pleasant surroundings

this is my uncles favourite pub, no longer called the Bay horse, but rather the Toby cavery, Formby. although you wont here anybody calling it that. It has and will allways be the Bay horse! Part of the famous formby ten, now the formby 13,a drinking challenge to visit each pub in formby and drink a pint in each! It's clear that people in formby have nothing much more to do than drink and play golf ;-) Its a good little pub with a nice resturant and a rather excellent sunday carvery where you cna tuck into as much sunday lunch as you can manage!

no quizz is good!
one of the gr8 formby pub run! i dont know what chrisp is gabbing about .. how you can complain that a pub has been refurbished? No more quizz is also a bonus i hate quizzes :-) It may not be the up and coming pub in formby but at least there is a wide selection of beers to choose from now.
Situtated just by formby station its a great place to pop into for a cheeky half on the way into town
