Great cheap bagels! It's pretty much the same as the one next door, though I know people who have developed a preference for one or the other. The classic salt beef bagel with mustard is always a favourite and absolutely hits the spot after a long night out on Brick Lane as it's open 24 hours a day. I'm also partial to the salami and cream cheese bagel.

Staff are properly surly and pure East End, which is great. It's great just to stop by and grab something to eat while wandering around Brick Lane for the afternoon. Either way, good bagels at a bargain!

Amazing breakfasts!
I love The Premises for their amazing and varied breakfast menu and friendly staff (for the most part). I usually fo there for breakfast and they have most anything for a British breakfast you could dream and reasonable prices. Everytime I have been (which is a lot) the staff have been very lovely and done their best to accomodate people during busy periods (with one exception when our waitress was a real sourpuss!)

The atmosphere is very relaxed and laid back and it's very nice to go before or after Columbia Road Flower Market as it's just around the corner.

Nice, but just nice
Food and drink at the Royal Court is obviously going to be overpriced given that it is a theatre in Sloane Square, but bearing that in mind, the food is very good, but there's not much variety to the menu and not much for vegetarians. I had probably the best luxury burger I've ever had there. There atmosphere is good, if a little pretentious, and there's always the possibility of spotting a celebrity there.

The bar is nice with friendly staff and well stocked for a theatre bar with a nice and differing selection of small snacks at the bar from berry cupcakes to fresh flapjacks!

Chill...
I love the Big Chill Bar for it's atmosphere and tunes. On a weekend afternoon there's always a good crowd there and it's great to just chill inside with the big couches or outside. It's a very relaxed atmosphere and nice staff. There's a good selection of drinks on offer as well as very good food. I like to go with a group of friends and the beginning of the night-- it's a good place to get warmed up or to recover the next afternoon with a bit of the hair of the dog!

And it's situated in the great atmosphere of Brick Lane near many other great places to go!

Good for a night out or a snack!
Cafe 1001 has some good tunes to warm up the night with or to hit later on in the evening. It's quite grungy, but that adds to the atmosphere for the most part. It's quite laid back and the dancing is usually good. One piece of advice-- always keep your bag with you. Since there's no cover charge people go in just to steal bags and leave. It happened to a friend of mine while she was just a few feet away from her bag, so be careful!!

It's also a nice cafe during the day with nice baked goods and food in the always amazing atmosphere of Brick Lane. Check it out!

Fun night out
I've been to Vibe Bar on many occasions-- it's great for a night out or an afternoon sitting outside. At night it has a great buzz about it and they're good with bookings for large groups-- I've been there a few times for birthday celebrations and they've always been good about reserving an area for us. The music is quite fun, though sometimes quite generic.

In the afternoon it's nice to sit outside and have a few drinks-- if it's nice out there's a good buzz as there are so many people and it's such a big place. Definitely recommend it!

Amazing place
The Shunt Vaults have an atmosphere that can't be matched-- deep in the tunnels of London Bridge Shunt is making amazingly craetive work in the context of a members bar. It's a fantastic evening where you can enjoy some drinks and check out whatever is on offer that week to see-- bands performance art, theatre or a range of other things. The place has a great buzz about it and there's nothing that I know of like it around. The work they create there is so interesting and diverse, you'll always be in for something new every time you go!

Most definitely worth checking out!

Nice pub
I enjoy the Pembury on a specific kind of occasion. They have an interesting selection of beers that are always nice and an extremely friendly staff who are always up for a chat which is lovely. The food is nice as well-- I can never resist the root vegetable chips!

However is is a bit of an older crowd who goes there-- it's not very lively, but I've had a few meetings there which have been lovely because it's quiet and open with big tables and nice food and drink, so if that's what you're up for, this pub is great!

Great Swedish food!
Fika is a very friendly Swedish restaurant/cafe on Brick Lane with fantastic food! You can go in for just a coffee or for a full meal. The service is great and the decor is very interesting and artful-- just right for Brick Lane. The meals are a little pricey, but you certainly get your money's worth-- I had the Swedish meatballs which were absolutely delicious. I don't really know what real Swedish food is like, so I can't really compare, but I do know these were some of the best meatball I've ever had.

It's definitely worth giving a try!

Great food, if a little pretentious
The Cat & Mutton is a very nice, sleek pub on Broadway Market. It has a buzzing atmosphere most nights with people spilling out onto the street if the weather is halfway decent. I've also been on a Sunday afternoon and the Sunday roast is amazing! Most of the other food I saw around looked great too. They have a decent selection of drinks and very good service. My one complaint is that sometimes it can get a bit pretentious-- I've seen the likes of Kelly Osbourne and Pixie Geldof there several times-- but it's always great for a night out or a relaxed meal. On Saturday afternoon it's a great place to pop into for a drink afternoon wandering around the market.
