Delicious Thai curries
The Thai is situated on Old York Road in Wandsworth Town, a pretty little road with lots of restarants, cafes and bars, but in my opinion, The Thai is the best of the bunch. It is one of my favourite restaurants in London.
I have eaten here many times and one of my favourite options is to have a set menu, as you get a taste of lots of starters and mains. The starters usually include a delicious, tender satay chicken on a kebab stick, crispy, tasty prawn sesame toast, rich, flavoursome Thai fish cakes, which are really, really tasty, as well as a couple or other things like spring rolls, won tons, and chicken wings. All really tasty and a good start to any meals,
The Thai curries here are really delicious. My favourite is the Penang curry, which is based on a red curry, but a bit richer, more aromatic and more flavoursome. The green curry here is as good as you can expect anywhere. The chicken is really the pad their is lovely, really tasty and anarchy. In fact, I have never had a bad meal here!
I have only ever had good experiences, with the service here. The start are always very attentive and on-the –ball. tender and delicious.

|Great tapas
Cafe Espana is a little restaurant on Old Compton Street in Soho. It is relatively quiet early on in the evening, or early in the week, but as it gets later a queue starts to form outside the doors and it is a long wait to get a table- this is one very popular restaurant.
I have been to this place loads and only really ever had the tapas, but it is always more than filling, and is one of my favourite places in London- great food with a reasonable price tag! We always have the tortilla Espanola- most tapas places would only give you a slice- here you get the whole thing, and it is delicious! The chorizo con vino is lovely, really tasty and flavoursome. The mussels come with a white wine/garlic sauce. The patatas bravas are also always ordered- they are just the right amount of spicy- not too hot but have nice kick! We also always have the alioli and bread- very very garlicky! Every time I come I am tempted with the amazing looking paella, but the tapas is just so nice! Maybe next time!
The food and drink here is incredibly reasonably priced and is real Spanish food. It rarely comes to more than £15 per person, and we usually eat and drink a lot! The service is really good= very friendly and attentive by genuine Spanish wait staff.
This place is a great place for fantastic cheap food. I’d recommend it, definitely.

Great vegetarian food
Kastoori is a small family run vegetarian restaurant in Tooting. The family that run it are from Uganda so it is a mix of African and Indian food. The nearest tube is Tooting Broadway.
The food here is really unusual. I first went with my partner and my family. My partner and brother were both very worried about the prospect of a meal without meat but the variety of flavours in the curries soon put their minds to rest. The sev puri and the dahi puri are especially good, like little taste bombs, and the masala dosai is also lovely. The sauces and chutneys for the poppadums are homemade and full of flavour. The tomato curry is really delicious. We usually now just go for a few of those mentioned and the specials on the day. They also have a good range of drinks.
The food and drink here is very reasonably priced and I always come away feeling full up without paying a massive price. The decor isn’t exactly great, but with great food at those prices, who cares?
I have always found the service there friendly and helpful, and the owner always comes over for a chat. I’d recommend this restaurant to anyone- veggie or not.
