Amazing new little Pizzeria
I spotted this little place a few weeks ago, its new and it was bustling on a weekday night, not bad for an almost unassuming little Restaurant on Hornsey High Street.

I decided to pop down there last night to try it, spotted it was a BYO place. Excellent popped up to the wine shop bought a couple of bottles and in the 5 mins we had been gone the spare tables had too. So the very friendly owner reserved us a table and we went to the pub for a swift half.

On returning, our table was just ready....as promised and we sat down, popped our second bottle of wine in the fridge and perused the long menu of amazingly priced food.

The atmosphere was lovely, the music was awesome and the smell of everyone else's dinner and the smells coming from the open kitchen were a delight.

Calamari was ordered for starters, great sized portion, the batter was like nothing i've had before, much better than a wealth of much more expensive independent or chain restaurants. NExt up was pizza, caramalised onion, parma ham, mascapone, and the better half had a lovely really fresh 'summer pizza' with spinach tomatoes and mozzarella. The pizza was massive, and again, one of the best i have had in ages. i couldn't finish it so in a box it went for a cold snack later!

dessert had to be tried, lemon cheesecake, my favorite, and again, this was sublime, half biscuit half baked cheesecake with fresh lemon rind. Followed by a very tasty double espresso. So the night was over and just the bill left to pay, i wont spoil the surprise but it was amazing value, i expect prices may go up a little, but they would be justified in doing so.

Overall this is clearly going to become my new favourite haunt. The staff were lovely, the music and vibe was great and the food was the tastiest i've had anywhere for a long time.

Very very highly recommended.

Leon milkshakes are awesome but i was disappointed with the chicken wrap and lemon quencher.

Expensive, small and only averagely tasty. Seating area was nice, clean and service was fairly quick but i'm not at all convinced so far.....

and Leon, if you sell a chicken wrap it would be nice to see more than a very mild spattering of Chicken! i know cabbage is cheap, so call it a cabbage wrap instead.

Just went down and got a nice cup of coffee from here, relaxed friendly and nice selection of healthy snacks.

one of the best coffees so far in Brick lane.

good drinking spot
Spent a good 6 hours here on a tuesday night, working followed by some serious drinking and banter. Good selection of beers friendly service and some inspiring and amusing toilet graffiti. And not too far to stumble back through spitalfields to get the train home!

Nice pub.

simple, cheap and hearty
found this after moving office to Brick lane. Was looking for a simple pub, wiht a pie and beer option. Even better i got Chicken Kiev, chips and beans. None of that swanky gastropub hand reared by monks in the hills Ostrich burger with hand massaged rocket.

The beer tasted great, service was quick and friendly and i got to site outside on a nice cobbled street.

Not the place for gastro extravaganza but perfect for a quick simple, cheap bite to eat near brick lane

*UPDATE: Just went back, awesome service, friendly and once again great food and beer..tempted to upgrade to 5 stars!
