Water Margin is the best Chinese in Golders Green and for that matter the surrounding area by a long measure. I have eaten here several times, so far only for lunch. For £5.50 you get an entree and a main. I have had both the chicken and sweetcorn soup (excellent, not at all gluggy) and the fresh and crispy Spring roles are divine.

After a short interval the main arrived. Crispy noodles with beef and vegetables. The noodles were superb, the crispy kind that are almost impossible to make at home. Service was fast and non intrusive. I strongly recommend this place.

I went to this restaurant last week with a group of friends from work and would not recommend it. We told them we were in a bit of a hurry - 1 hour lunch break but that made no difference to the slow service. As far as the food goes I had the lunch special £4.99 pizza or pasta + Salad. I order Spaghetti Bol but ended up with Spaghetti with Pesto as they mixed up the order. Anyway there was a layer of oil 1/2 a cm thick in the bottom of the bowl. So the service was poor and the food pretty average - not recommended.
