Lovely
This is a great little shop for buying cakes jam and olive oil. I do like jam and although I sometimes make my own I never seem to have enough to last. The other day though I thought I’d try some different jam to the supermarket brand and so I tried this shop, they were very friendly and helped me chose everything that I needed. They were very polite and said please and thank you which I think is nice and is something you generally only get from a little shop like this. I will definitely be going there again to buy more jam as it was really good quality and not too expensive!!!

Apart from Thorntons the other place I mainly buy chocolate from is Hotel Chocolat. It’s another shop which is great for buying presents from and fab as a treat for eating there and then. They have a very large range of chocolates most of which are made from peculiar mixtures i.e. have fruits or other things you wouldn’t normally think go well with chocolate in them. However all the chocolate tastes delicious and I find that although it’s very expensive it is worth the money as it’s very tasty chocolate. The only thing I don’t like about it is the way that the members of staff look down their noses at you if you are not as posh looking as them, still a nice store.

Burger King is somewhere that I really do try to avoid due to the fact that I have been to several of their branches and seen some really disgusting things but I thought I’d give them another try when I walked past a few weeks ago. This store is rather dim and dingy inside, they need more windows or at least some better light. The hygiene standards in here are slightly better than in some other stores but I still saw a lot of dirt and grime and somebody doing the chips had no hat of so their hair was going everywhere. At least the food was hottish though and the price wasn’t too bad. I don’t think I’ll be going again though, try a healthier option.

The best place to buy quality chocolate is from Thorntons, I often go there to get a Christmas or birthday present for my friends and family as they all love Thorntons chocolate. This is one of the best stores they have, the staff are brilliant! They always give you time and space to browse but are available to ask for advice on the chocolates if you want / need it. The chocolate is always amazingly tasty and of a fabulous quality, never gone off or broken. The store is clean and tidy. The chocolate is a little expensive but is worth every penny. I give it 10 out of 10 because the staff are so helpful!

Melt In The Mouth Cookies
Millies Cookies do make the best cookies in the U.K and seeing as I adore cookies I just have to try one every time I walk past. These are the best quality cookies ever, they are not at all burnt and are instead soft and doughy, yum! There are a lot of different types of cookies but all are amazingly delicious. This store is always very clean when I go in and the staff are nice and polite and friendly, they are always willing to answer any questions about the cookies which is good for those who have allergies as they can find out which cookies are suitable for them. There is often a long queue for these but it’s worth waiting as you won’t get a better cookie anywhere and the queue is only because the cookies are so good that everybody wants one… or two… maybe three.

The most amazing cupcakes
Cakes, one of life’s little treats, I really do enjoy eating them and often stop off in bakeries, one of my favourites is Crumbs & Doilies. It is a very posh shop but they really do make the best every fairy cakes. Plus all their cakes are handmade, so a lot of care has gone into them and you can tell by the taste. My favourite ones are the chocolate flavour which are very rich and have the most amazing texture! The cupcakes are neither too small nor too big, making them the perfect snack, they are however so tasty that you’ll want to eat a lot of them!! I know I always do. These are great for parties and just sharing amongst friends but I think they are best when bought as a snack or treat as they taste so amazing!

Poor hygiene
I really don’t like McDonalds but I was very hungry when out shopping one day and this place seemed to have the shortest queues so I decided to try it out. The food was up to the usual McDonalds standards i.e. not very high. The woman who served me had previously been sweeping the floor before she decided to touch my chips, yuck. But apart from that the staff were friendly and there was a lot of space to sit down because this shop has two floors. The toilets were fairly clean and so was the rest of the shop. The food filled me up but wasn’t very nice, then again it’s the same with all McDonalds they never taste very good. I recommend you eat somewhere healthier and tastier but if you’re in a rush and there’s nowhere else to go then this is an okay takeaway.

I was absolutely starving
I visited Absolutely Starving because I was absolutely starving and the name of it caught my eye. It is one of the busiest shops in the area which is normally chock-a-block full of tourists. Therefore the shop normally has queues out the door, don’t be put off by these though as it really is worth waiting. The food you can buy in this shop is AMAZING! It’s fresh and tasty, my favourite are the sandwiches which come in loads of different varieties and all of which taste amazing. They also sell loads of other tasty treats such as soup. I always stop inhere when I am going past because the food is just too good to resist. I really do recommend this place to anybody and everybody.

Chicken, yum!
My favourite food to takeaway is chicken so I often stop off in Dixie Chicken to get some chicken burgers, usually with chips. The food is normally very hot and fresh. My husband & I both love eating here as the food is delicious and filling. It makes a great main meal or if you’re really hungry a nice snack. Admitingly this place is bad for vegetarians but other than that I think that most people would love it. It’s always clean and the staff are normally polite. This is a great place to grab some chicken on the go and there aren’t normally very long queues which is a great bonus.

Definately a boost
I love smoothies and often buy them in Supermarkets so when I saw this Boost Smoothie bar I went in to treat myself. They have a nice range of smoothies which are freshly made and taste amazing. I have found that in this branch in particular the staff are very friendly and always happy to help with whatever problem it is that you might have, the best thing about the smoothies from here is that they are totally natural so you know that you’re not filling your body with junk and only drinking healthy stuff. They really do give both your mind and your body a boost. I think that this is the best smoothie bar in the area and the drinks taste amazing! Recommended to anybody who likes a tasty drink and fruit.
