A Level students are being treated to a sneak preview of Oceana’s £2m refurbishment to celebrate the wildest night in the club calendar on Thursday 14th August!

The award-winning ‘world in one night’ venue will officially open its doors to the public on Friday 22nd August, but management are rewarding local students for their hard work by throwing a huge ‘Results Day’ party ahead of the opening.

Although, the club’s new downstairs Rhythm Bar will remain closed for the grand opening, Milton Keynes revellers can expect to see a dramatic transformation throughout the nightclub, including a new style 1000 capacity Reykjavik Ice House. A Level students will be the first to see the VIP suites, VIP room as well as the new Boudoir and vodka Russia Bar.

General manager, Mark Molton said: “A Level night is the biggest night in the clubbing calendar and we wanted to give our A Level students a special reward by opening up the main club just for them. However, the main party and full unveil will take place the following week with a spectacular line up of entertainment.”

Oceana Milton Keynes Relaunched
COOLEST PLACE IN TOWN SET TO GET HOTTER

The award-winning Oceana in Milton Keynes is undergoing a £2m makeover that will create a new six-room experience, which is scheduled to open Friday 22nd August 2008.

The venue’s former Ice House and Ski Lodge have been redesigned to create a new style 1000 capacity Reykjavik Ice House, which will feature a stark white interior, white leather seating areas, 360 degree video projection, a stage area and state of the art sound and lighting.

Another key feature to the new Ice House will be three luxurious VIP Suites, available for private hire for that special occasion. These exclusive suites can cater for parties of up to 20 people and they offer a private bar, leather seating, plasma TV and private waitressing, while overlooking the Icehouse dancefloor.

An entirely new addition to the three floor venue will be the private VIP room; a classy bar providing the perfect atmosphere to relax in with a glass of the club’s finest champagne. The glass-fronted area will feature complete luxury and will only be open at the manager’s discretion.

The ‘seductive’ and ’sexy’ Parisian Boudoir – one of the venue’s most popular rooms - will undergo a complete refit and relocation. The refurbishment also introduces two new destinations - a Russian themed bar and also downstairs will be the Rhythm Room. This chilled out bar will feature a live DJ, dance floor and become one of the funkiest bars in town.

General manager, Mark Molton said: “A lot of the features in the refurbishment have been created in response to customer feedback. Customers often request reserved seated areas - we will have nine booths available for reservation in the Ice House. Our VIP’s & WAG’s requested their own bar – we have designed a stunning and exclusive VIP bar. Our customers wanted to see more live personal appearances – so a stage area has been included in the design. Even the new downstairs bar has been created to give our smokers a room to party and comfortably pop out to have a cigarette.”

Investment Pours in to Liquid Refurb
INVESTMENT POURS INTO LIQUID REFURB

The launch of the new Liquid and Envy nightclub in Colchester is to receive another £1m investment.

It was originally reported that the venue, which replaces the Hippodrome, would receive £1/2m but management have received confirmation of a complete £1.5m investment to completely transform the venue.

Colchester’s historic Hippodrome will make way for a nationally recognised and award-winning, Liquid & Envy branded club due to open on Friday 25th July for the general public.

The rolling-refurbishment, which allows customers to witness the progressive change, will reveal a three room venue – Liquid for over 18s and Envy for over 23s on Fridays and Saturdays.

The former Grand Theatre and Grand Palace of Varieties venue will receive extensive work to maintain and return original features of the decor and mouldings to its original state as seen when it opened in 1905. Restoration experts and contractors will work meticulously to preserve and restore the building to its former glory to give a breathtaking contrast of contemporary and classic design.

The intricate hand-carved Edwardian curved balconies compared to the stylish and modern high-quality finishes will provide a unique experience enhanced by multi-coloured lighting systems. The three-floor Liquid room will feature an impressive dance-floor and podium area brought together by a state-of-the-art sound system controlled from the raised DJ box.

5 VIP Pods and 4 further VIP booths will be a new and major addition to Liquid’s offering. Available for hire with table service, the luxurious leather seating booths have been designed to give customers an extra special evening for birthdays and celebrations. General manager, Glen Freeman.

“The additional investment to the venue will be fantastic for us and our customers. The new look Liquid and Envy will have something for everyone with a completely fresh look. Mixed with the entertainment and lighting & sound effects, we’re going to create a superb clubbing experience.”

Liquid will also feature an urban lounge room, dedicated exclusively to urban music that is free to access by anyone in the venue.

The Envy room completely contrasts Liquid’s stark white interior. Envy boasts a dark and intimate feel, which will be exclusively for over 23s who can freely flow between the buzz of chart, dance and urban music in Liquid; and Envy’s classic tracks, disco and party anthems.

Dartford’s Air & Breathe is receiving a rolling refurbishment to give the place a new look in time for the summer that will be unveiled on Thursday 26th June.

Air & Breathe, Kent's premier twin scene venue will receive new carpets, a fresh paint job as well as brand new washroom facilities. The Essex Road venue will remain open through the changes to ensure the start of the summer celebrations is not disturbed and customers can continue to party at Air & Breathe.

Also, management at the venue have confirmed a huge line up of entertainment as part of their investment, starting with Chanelle from Big Brother; Cahill performing ‘Trippin on you’, Fragma featuring Coco and the One Love stage performers.

Chicago Rock Cafe, Canterbury is set to receive a massive £1.5m refurbishment that will completely transform the venue to reveal a stunning new club called, Chill.

Due to open on Thursday 10th July for VIP invite holders only and to the full public on Friday 11th, Chill will offer young clubbers a trendy and modern venue to drink, dance and meet people. Detailed graphic representations reveal a high quality finish from the speckled-black dance-floor to the white leather seating areas. IKON BOLTON REBORN
Ikon nightclub on Bridge Street is currently receiving a refurbishment to give the place a fresh new look in time for summer.

The popular Bolton venue will stay open throughout the refurb to ensure customers can enjoy their favourite venue in the run up to the relaunch. Once complete, Ikon will hold a ‘huge’ celebration on Saturday 5th July to officially unveil the club’s changes, and the message from management is “It’s still Ikon but better”.

One of the major changes will be the introduction of stylish VIP booths. Perfect for birthday and party celebrations, each booth is available for reservation and includes table service. General manager at Ikon, Derek Loadwick said: “We have a range of packages available to customers that want an extra special night to celebrate. These booths are extremely stylish and offer your very own private area overlooking the action in the club and already we’re starting to take enquiries and bookings.”
