Excellent value
Hee's isn't your regular chinese takeaway. With it's bigger sister restaurant just over the road, you might expect there to be a difference in the quality of the food, but there isn't. Not oily, greasy, and tasted great. We easily ordered enough for 4 people, and it came to about 4 or 5 pounds each.
The service was excellent, and speedy - we popped out after ordering to go to the cash machine, and our order was ready within minutes of us returning. The staff were also happy to answer any questions about the food, as my friend can't eat shellfish, and they were more than happy to accommodate for that.

Definitely not one for a quiet meal and the end of a long day, but perfect for a birthday, as long as you don't mind being embarrassed by serenading waiters! Good service, and we were seated quickly, drinks brought swiftly, couldn't ask for more really. Large portions, so there's no need to ask for anything more. The food is good, and great value for the price. Also good are the desserts, although after a meal that will undoubtedly be meat, you might want to go for something a little lighter. This branch is always busy, just a testament to the great food and service.

Great introduction to sushi
It might not have the best sushi in London, but I think Yo Sushi is still a great place to eat out. With its relaxed atmosphere, it's the perfect place to introduce people to the delights of sushi, because you can share with your friends, and try out new things. The last time I went, I discovered the fantastic pumpkin korroke, and my friend and I sat waiting for another plate to come round! However, the chefs are aso willing to make food to order, if you can't see what you want on the belt. The pricing system is easy to follow, and there are often offers and deals on their website, which makes it great value.

Milkshakes!
The food is good, but the milkshakes are honestly amazing. The food always comes in great sized portions that will definitely fill you up. Crisp chips, and juicy burgers - what more could you ask for? But the food is only half of the appeal of this place. The 1950s american diner decor is certainly endearing, and the whole 50s vibe is just accentuated by the little jukeboxes on the tables. 20p, and your choice of decade appropriate song will play throughout the diner, from the Age of Aquarius to the Beach Boys classic Don't Worry, Baby. The only risk is your fellow diners getting fed up of you inflicting your poor taste on them!

Great to see a large chain of cinemas which still has ushers! A little on the small side, but on the other hand, the smaller screen sizes can be seen as a plus point too. Staff here are often friendly and helpful, but one working at the box office didn't actually know how to use the booking system, I'm assuming that was just a newly trained employee though. Other bonuses include picking your own seat which you just can't do in Vue cinemas, and a good varied selection of snacks at the counter. Overall, I had a very good experience at this cinema.

Well, I have never heard anyone call it that, but this, and the branch in South Kensington are two of the best places for crepes I've ever been to. While you can actually sit down in the South Kensington branch, I prefer the Hampstead kiosk, because to be honest, the crepes are perfect to pick up as a quick snack when you're hanging out nearby. A wide range of both savoury and sweet crepes, so it's perfect for whatever mood you're in. Somebody said the service isn't that great, but it doesn't really matter, because you're only there for a couple of minutes anyway. Highly recommended!

Overpriced, understaffed
For the price, the food is quite frankly rubbish, there's nothing stopping you from buying a tub from your supermarket at half the price of some of these desserts. Obviously you're getting the added bonus of service etc for the price, but when I went, the service was horrendous! Naturally it was quite busy, being 2 or 3 in the afternoon, and the place was packed, but the service suffered badly because the place was sorely lacking waiters. The staff obviously couldn't keep track of orders, and we found ourselves forgotten and ignored in favour of other groups. Definitely not a place to revisit.

I have to admit, the food here was quite good, but when you look at the price, you realise you could be getting better food elsewhere. The portions were generous, especially the main courses, but like another reviewer, you're going to spend quite a bit on drinks, whether you go for a cocktail or just a soft drink. Dessert was definitely a highlight, with a rich chocolate pudding served with clotted cream. Not really thai, but it didn't matter.

My main gripe with this restaurant though, was the service. Waiters and waitresses were a little cold, but they are obviously told to smother you. I'm happy to give up having someone pour water from a bottle into my glass every two minutes if it means I can have an actual conversation with my friends.

The place for comics
Forbidden Planet is probably the largest shop in London selling cult TV merchandise, comics, manga, and pretty much anything along those lines. They really do have an extensive range of goods, from replica props to signed books, scattered among the regular ones. It's probably cheaper, as greedoe says, to buy your favourite graphic novel series online, but Forbidden Planet is definitely the best places to discover new series which gradually turn into obsessions (trust me!). The staff are great - both helpful and friendly and they never seem to mind you browsing the shelves for the gift that is just right for a friend. All in all, a great shop.

Brilliant venue
There's been a few mixed reviews below, but in my opinion, the Roundhouse is a great venue! I've been to a gig in the main space and any worries about the venue feeling empty are completely unfounded. The sound was great, and really filled the space. But I've also been to a gig in a side room, as there are also smaller gigs going on at the weekend, showcasing up and coming bands. Although attendance was low, it's great to see a big venue helping out and encouragin new and younger bands, through these all ages gigs, and also open rehearsals during the week. Thumbs up!
