Deep Fried Occra
The Tigers Pad is on the A30 as you drive through Sunningdale, opposite the train station. It is a small, relaxed Indian restaurant with a couple of street parking places outside, so get in early.

The menu is small but contains a number of Indian specialities, most notably the deep fried occra of the title. This is a must on any visit, and once tried will hook you in to coming again.

The staff are wonderfully sociable and really give the place a 'family run' feel where nothing it too much trouble. In fact, my only gripe are the chairs, which become a little uncomfortable after a while (though this may be due to my large frame).

Down by the Riverside
Saw the previous review - I agree the place is a pub and restaurant next to the Thames and a wonderful location in the summer - not so hot in the Winter and Autumn time. Parking is fine earlier in the evening, once the local businesses have closed.

I last ate there last week - the food was a sort of modern English mix, and a tad pricey (thank goodness for expenses !), the quality was excellent and everyone at the table agreed the only complaint was the time taken for the food to arrive. The far-too-comfortable sofas were very inviting and would have led to a much longer evening, if business did not beckon the following morning.

The staff were polite and talkative, and able to answer all the queries on the food.

Not so Ancient
Located right in the heart of Frimley is the 'Raj', as so many of my friends call it. It is a very popular Indian restaurant in the centre of Frimley and highly advisable to book in advance (though takeaway is available at a reduced cost). I have noticed the White Hart pub opposite has closed so maybe it is a little easier to get a table. . .

The menu is extensive, and as we eat at a number of different Indian restaurants the cuisine can be a little hot for my tastes, though my other half lists this as one of the main attractions of the food, and so calls me a wimp. The portions are ample, and whilst it is probably a little on the expensive side you get what you pay for in terms of quality.

I must say the staff are some of the warmest to be found, and always well turned out.

All in all, highly recommended.

20 Years, Man and Boy
We've been going to the Cricketers Beefeater in Bagshot for over 20 years now, and have seen it's transition to a fancy Out and Out pub, and back to the more traditional Beefeater fare it has today. The Out and Out decor has remained, making it one of the smarter Beefeater restaurants around, certainly in this part of Surrey.

There is a large and comfortable bar integral to the building (along with the Travelodge), and the lunchtime bar snacks have been enjoyed by myself and business colleagues on a number of occasions. The restaurant is friendly and the service attentive without beinf too intrusive.

The menu us traditional and what I call 'call day' food, with hot stodgy puddings and plenty of options.

This Harvester in 2008
Having a young family we are now consigned to the land of Harvester and Beefeater etc - and this one (being the nearest) is a regular haunt of ours. We have visited probably half a dozen times this year, and each time the food has been good quality and plenty of it, and there had been no problem getting a table for all of us.

The cuisine is, well, standard Harvester, though we have visited many in other parts of the country we have rarely had a bad meal in them; I think it is the service which lets them down. The last time we ate here the problem was the waitress, whose English was extremely basic and so the food we were served had to be replaced a couple of times.

A measure of how good the food was though - it would not not put us off going again.

The Mogul
The Mogul is situated on the A30 in Bagshot and our most regular Indian takeaway service, though only since the arrival of the children we have less opportunities to go out these days !

The staff are always well turned out and very sociable and helpful, and the service (sadly take out) top notch. The food is excellent and we try different dishes on each visit, and the portions are usually enough to keep us well fed.

The restaurant has recently been expanded and re-furbished to keep up with what aseems to be a growing regular customer base, and well deserved it is !

So-Asia (why we go there every week)
As locals in this part of Surrey we are used to a number of Chinese Buffet-style restaurants, but in 2007 happened across So-Asia in Camberley and have not looked back - the range and quality of dishes is really impressive and to date we have not had a bad meal. In fact, the friends and family members we have taken there have started regularly eating, so much so it is somtimes hard to get a table !

The cuisine is a mix or Chinese and other Asian countries, all available for a one off cost (and its cheaper Monday though Thursday). Especially of note is the inclusion of chips for the fussy, and a range of ice creams for those with a sweet tooth - supplemented by toffee apple and banana on Fridays and Saturdays.

The staff can't be faulted, and are always curteous and welcoming, and happy to help out with a birthday or celebration.
