Superduper Quirkiness!
Kitsch-tastic - The Butterfly and The Pig (or Pig and Butterfly if you're drunk already and get confused like me) is a fantastic bar running along Bath Street. Like stepping into the world of Alice in Wonderland, the decor is like your Granny's front room mixed with shabby chic furnishings and laid-back style. The portions are huge, so if your eyes are bigger than your belly choose wisely! Best bit is you can gain access to the Buff Club to continue your experience post-midnight. Fab!

Go Ga Ga for Wah Wah
An iconic music venue in its own right, King Tuts is a legendary club that's helped launch the careers of so many successful artists today. Radiohead, Pulp and Oasis to name but a few. Now its home to up and coming bands/singers and generally a great place to talk music. Seeing Biffy Clyro there is definitely one of the highlights of my wee life so far!

Nice and Sleazy
Nice n Sleazys could be mistaken for disused public toilets, but look behind the disarray and it's actually a really decent rock pub. The food is cheap as chips (literally) and the downstairs music venue is a great spot for atmospheric chill-out music. The pool tables up the back are pretty good, and although the seats are falling to bits they're comfy at least! A great pre-king tuts venue, if a bit far away from other rocking bars.

The Average Primary
The Primary is a weird one - it attracts a mixed bag of clientele, from older genetlemen, to students and business types. A great venue to watch the football, and a huge beer garden helps to draw in the punters. The food is just above wetherspoons standards, and the pool table is terribly expensive at £1.50 a game, but the beer is pretty good and they have a fantastic selection of drinks available. Food wise be careful...stay away from the baked potatoes as they can be hard, but generally its acceptable grub to fill that beer belly!

Decent boozer
Bunker is easy to miss, but definitely worth a visit. Cheap drink promos draw the crowds in on a Sunday, and its city centre beer garden is ok by similar standards. The food is a bit of a let down though I have to admit. Usual British fayre is served, and it's quite pricey for what you get.

The seating is nice and chille dout however, and there's a good selection of drinks availabel from the trendy curved bar. The indie music can get a tad repetitive though. Good student bar essentially.

Not the best Chinese in Glasgow
Glasgow is the city of Indian restaurants, so to find a half-decent chinese is no easy task. The Lemon tree was my local for many years and to be honest, it's OK. It's certainly not anything above average however, although on the plus side it is extremely cheap compared to other takeaways/restaurants. Give the Chicken Fried rice a try as it's quite tasty.

Grosvenor Cinema
If you want something a bit different to your usual cinema complex full of pick and mix, uncomfy seats and military precision, then head to the Grosvenor cinema. The Grosvenor cinema is Glasgow's favourite contemporary cinema, based in the cobbled Ashton Lane, the two screened cinema shows the latest blockbusters, art house films and special film festivals. Relax in the leather seats, or snuggle up in the leather couches. Why not treat yourself to a bottle of vino or a thirst-quenching pint for a relaxing cinematic experience.

Italia Fantastico!
For almost four decades, the Martinolli family have been serving up traditional Italian cuisine in their beautifully decorated cavernous restaurant beneath the hustle and bustle of Hope Street. The décor has remained almost untouched – a warm, welcoming scene of densely arranged tables and exposed wooden beams, with paintings of rustic life and other artefacts decorating the walls.
The food is the most delicious in Glasgow and well worth a visit if you haven't already been. Service is second to none too. Mmmmmmm!

Noisy dump
Over-priced beer and a queue of really bad bands does not a good pub make. The Halt Bar on Woodlands Road is seriously out-dated, full of eejits who think they are 'like, so unique and special, like ohmygod' and a complete rip-off when it comes to buying booze. And the mess the street is in the morning after? Have some fecking respect.

My advice - head 6 doors down to the Arlington for a decent Jukebox, a fair-priced pint and a fab atmosphere!

Brelliant!
Belgium is one of those countries that is difficult to define. Half French, half German, it's a mix of traditions, but Brel incorporates them perfectly.

Beer. Mussels. French Fries. Waffles. I ask you, what more could one want from a meal? Seriously - the food in Brel is tres magnifique! Try the croque of mussels in a white wine sauce...ist sehr gute. But for dessert you simply must sample the belgian waffle with hot toffee sauce and ice-cream. Truly orgasmic.

The decor aint have interesting either, and the extensive range of beers is sure to please any beer connisseur.
