these super-cheap, super-awful chinese buffet places seem to be cropping up everywhere.

i didn't think it was possible to have a bad chinese until i went here. the food tasted like it had been cooking for about a week and then left under those buffet heater things for another week.

if you're near the charlotte street / goodge street crossroads there's a little chinese buffet stall which is about 1,000,000,000 times better - and for about the same price.

I kinda get the feeling that the people working here aren't really too bothered. I find it a bit skanky and lacking in soul. The bars across the road and down the alley opposite are much more fun. The time I was molested by the 45 yr old woman didn't help either (no offence to 45 yr old women in general!)

Been there too much!
Village East is stylish, suave, poncy and my type of place. Webjam (my company) was virtually born there on wine-filled tuesday evenings over the past year so it's close to my heart.

Good food, drink and top staff. I'd thoroughly recommend it!
