The Idlewild is great: The brunch food was really good (better than Gordon Ramsey's fare at The Warwick close by), the place is cool, and the upstairs lounger is quite cool on Sundays with DJs and Jazz. One of my favourite"hidden" places in Maida

I was so excited to have Gordon open up a restaurant in my 'hood, even if I was a bit upset about loosing Ben's Thai. Obviously Gordon hasn't come by his new creation to ship them into shape yet though... I saw my dream menu and was in love (Oysters followed by Sole Meuniere followed by Chocolate Fondant). The Oysters were good... but then came the Sole... I was never offered to option to have it cleaned...big pet peeve... Dessert... well dessert never came because they forgot about us. 30 min later when we reminded them it turned up (on the house). Wine list is great (if pricey for a gastro pub).
Will give it another try (and post the review) but for Gordon get's the F word...

Bloody tight quarters
Two of us went for dinner on a Saturday... I loved the menus on a chalk board and the food was indeed quite good and it reminded me of ... well a "Notting Hill-ized" french Bistro. The one "issue" was when they took the four seats to our left in the central communal table and decided to squeeze in six people because someone's friend decided to bring their (very talkative and loud) friend... Almost ruined a good evening... a bottle of decent read saved it!

Great price but often late
I use these guys a lot and I must say they are great from London to the airport, usually on time and mostly great but from the airport to London they have been late almost every time and last time their driver did not even offer to help my very pregnant wife with her bags. I guess you get what you pay for.

Decent mexican... decent price
While I consider Mestizo the best Mexican in London (see my review) and yes I am Mexican myself, I must admit I have had many a dinner at Wahaca... primarily because after 2.5 hrs of Ballet in Covent Garden I am really craving their spicy Tortilla soup, some tacos and a cold mexican beer. Great price, great location... I just wish it would stay open one hour longer for those plays that seem to drag on forever... As someone else said, it is "the Wagamama of Mexicans" (I asked... they're not related)

Best Mexican in London
Being Mexican, I might be biased towards my country's delicious food... This is NOT your usual overpriced-taco Tex-Mex restaurant (ahem Crazy Homies). It has some of the best and most authentic Mexican food I have ever tried outside of Mexico.
For Mexican Independence week (Sept 15) they had a special menu with some of the most exquisite plates... think 24hr slow roasted lamb.
That and amazing tequila and margarita selection make this one of my favorite places in London. They also have a "club" downstairs that plays Latin Pop and seems to have quite a following on Thursdays.

Loved it...
[Update... the food has greatly improved and its back on my top list!]

This used to be my secret place in London... very close to home, amazing food and amazingly un-Lodon-like prices. I understand management has changed but the last two times have really not been the same. They pushed me hard on a wine that was not that good, the food was good...but not as good as it used to be.

Nonetheless, still one of the great little places in Little Venice. I still go back... but I miss the old management.
