Littered with the great unwashed, I don't think I've ever spent more than ten minutes in here without seeing someone nicked for shoplifting!
The staff are ignorant and look at you like you've asked for the meaning of life if you ask where the shallots are.
The hot counter food looks unappealing and the butchers last time I was in was manned by a baker!
The fresh produce is rarely thus and the store itself has a worrying fly population.
Frustrating as well if you want food and alcohol as you have to pay separately for each.
In short, thank the lord the sainsburys has opened in the merrion centre and I dont have to frequent moggies any more.

Hidden treasure
The grove is a mixed bag with something for everyone.

Real ale enthusiasts will love the vast selection, CAMRA really rate them by all accounts. For the rest of us, the selection isn't quite as impressive but cheap enough.

Music enthusiasts will love the live acts, something for all tastes and not extortionate entry which for the London of the North is unusual!

The food is cheap, unpretentious and bloody lovely!
Real meals for real yorkshire folk at real prices, can't go wrong.

The location means a trek out of town a bit to get there, but then you avoid the meatheads out on a saturday night so obviously that's a bonus.

If you go to jongleurs, go for the comedians, not the food, atmosphere, drinks or after-show dancing.
The food is below par at above average prices, the drinks are ridiculously expensive and the after-show "party" is bad music for bad dancers.
Oh and stay away from bar risa next door too, chav heaven!

The comedy shows are brilliant, if you sign up to the website, you will get loads of emails with two for one ticket offers and get in free once on your birthday month.
Some big names have appeared at Jongleurs and some far lesser known but equally hilarious z-listers make up the bill.

Needs evolution
Revolution is a must visit for vodka lovers, some of the flavours are just wrong but it doesn't hurt to try them anyway - not until the morning after.

It's not great for food but if you work for Leeds Council, take your ID badge in, food never costs more than a fiver and that includes the steak so if you're looking for ok rather than gourmet its a cheap eat for council employees.

It's a bit hen party at the weekend for my liking but the drinks promos are quite good through the week.

The music is standard yates's type stuff, which is not a compliment, nothing adventurous or interesting, cheese to rnb and back again.

Chav heaven, expensive drinks and cheap punters and saw two brawls break out in the space of the twenty minutes it took to gulp down a drink. Really really really would not recommend unless the kind of bar where you're likely to stick to the floor or get thumped by a scuffer appeals to you!
It's only redeeming feature is it's close proximity to the train station which is hardly an endorsement, you'd be better off in the wetherspoons inside, at least the drinks are cheap!
They appear to have stolen delboy's cocktail list and the food is cheap for a reason, it is either under or over cooked, generic and bland and has been made by a chef with qualifications in microwaveology at best.

Bowled over!
After being unable to book amf with the kids due to a tournament, we took the short bus journey to hollywood bowl.

Despite it being a Saturday afternoon, we only had a twenty minute wait and someone came to get us when our lane was ready.
Snacks and drinks were reasonably priced and there was a good variety, the staff even proved a glass of milk for my youngest who doesn't drink dilute juice, you'd be surprised how rare it is for this to happen!

We had several staff members visit our lane ensuring we were comfortable and had adequate refreshments, the alley was clean and overall was a fantastic afternoon out! Would definitely recommend for children of all ages and abilities, finally somewhere that's good for the grown ups too!!!

A fabulous cafe with delicious homemade fresh foods, mostly vegetarian and the opportunity to finish one off with an interesting fruity bong, Sahara is a place to relax, with comfy sofas and cushions, low tables, lower lights, it's ideal for an intimate coffee with friends and family and is a welcome break from the hustle and bustle of city life and eateries!
One of Leeds' hidden treasures, it doesn't look like much from the outside but venturing in, you instantly notice the warm chilled out vibe. Brilliant choice of meals and snacks, again particularly for vegetarians and although always popular, it never feels busy or overcrowded.

Indie Joze is another of Leeds' well kept secrets, whether you want a sandwich and a coffe at lunchtime or a post work beer in a laid back relaxed, comfortable atmosphere,
Indie's is ideal and the prices are reasonable, the staff friendly and approachable and the music is entirely suitable, lively without being overpowering and adds to the atmosphere rather than smothering it.
All in all a good place to cool your heels after shopping, stress about work on your lunch break or drink away your cares after a long day!
A good choice of foods including sandwiches and snacks and an alcohol list a bar would be proud of plus delicious hot chocolate, perfect for winter!

Appearances are deceptive
Don't dismiss Fuji as another divey cafe, nip in and discover the wonders of fine reasonably priced japenese cuisine in a friendly if not funky environment.
With staff more efficient than friendly (though they are in no way inhospitable), Fuji Hero may seem second best to some of the flashier japanese eateries in Leeds, but the food is amazing and the service so quick that it is a great choice for a lunchtime outlet. The chicken curries are delicious and the broths are out of this world, no frills food and no frills decor but the taste more than compensates for lack of chandeliers and fancy garnishes!

Out and proud!
Fibre is one of the best bars on the vibrant scene, leave any prejudices at the door and shimmy in to enjoy a great selection of music, impressive and rapidly provided drinks and a friendly happy vibe that some "straight" bars in Leeds lack.
No chavs, no fights, no meatheads wanting to smash your face in, the worst you can suffer is a z formation click if you don't meet the sartorial standards of the regulars, but all is in jest.
The music is fab for you dancing queens, the drinks selection is good if far from cheap and the party lasts all night!
