Benny's pizzas are the best. You can watch then making the pizza with whatever you choose on them. They are really generous with their toppings and the bases are light and fluffy. They also do various kebabs. My husband has the donna kebab with yoghurt and mint sauce. It is packed with well-cooked lean meat served with a salad. You can also get burgers and chips and a number of soft drinks. I like the fact that goo can see thein cooling and the display cabinet with the pizza toppings is kept fresh and clean. The staff are friendly and chatty -a really good welcome. They will deliver your order within a few miles of Ashbourne provided you are ordering more than a bag of chips.

Caribbean in style
From the outside this doesn't look much. The decor is not very luxurious and the restaurant is on a busy room near some not very great shops. Parking is easy and free in the shopping Centre opposite. The owner or his wife has greeted us every time we have been and they make you feel very welcome - almost like a long lost friend. The food is excellent Caribbean with a gourmet flare. My only bugbear is that your have to order of our vegetables and potatoes or rice as extras and this adds the price up a bit. The owner goes through the men with you and explains how each dish is made and which side dish would complement it. they offer a very individual dining experience which makes for a very special meal. It is perfect for a twosome or a romantic meal. Once you get passed the rather basic and unattractive exterior and rather neglected decor inside then you can enjoy the welcome and delicious food. the prices are not cheap but the food is different, good quality and well cooked.

Good position near other bars, restaurants and the Club 'Scream' which makes it popular with young people meeting up for a night out. The atmosphere is casual but not that relaxed as it can get very busy and crowded. You would certainly need to book if you wanted to eat later on Friday or Saturday nights. The waiting staff are friends and helpful but when it gets busy your may have to wait a white for you food. The food is Italian style pizza, pasta type of food. It is nor that exciting but perfectly acceptable. This is where I go when meeting friends or colleagues in casual meal it is not somewhere I would go for a romantic meal for two or fore gourmet meal on a special occasion.

Higgs has been in Derby for many years before the new Westfield Shopping Centres arrival with its many Cafés, I is quite a big cafe with a variety of seating possibilities from chairs and tables to higher stools. there is quite a variety of food an available from biscuits and cakes to Sandwiches and light Snacks such as baked potatoes with different fillings. There is not the great variety of coffee flavours offered in some of the American style cafes but your can get a decent cappuccino, tea or hot chocolate. Higgs is also open in the evening for bistro style cafe food.It used to have live music some evenings and catered for a lively youthful crowd not the club scene but those who enjoyed live music with their casual dining..

This cafe is in the new Westfield Shopping centre not far from Boots on a corner. there is a display cabinet full of tempting looking cakes and freak but I try. to resist these when I go. There is great selection of coffees, teas and other drinks on offer. There are hot and cold drinks and many afferent flavoured coffees. You can also buy coffee beans or ground coffee to take home with your These are tee same flavours that are served in the cafe. When you order your drill you have to gone your name You than move to the next part d the counter and wait for your order the check it is you by asking your more and check the order with you. You are given a loyalty card which they clip for each each drink you buy and after l0 drinks brought you get a free one I This is good marketing as you are then encouraged to return to earn your free drink! I love the hot chocolate and the mocha drinks with cappuccino type froth. The cafe is half open to the shopping centre so it can be a bit chilly sitting near the. open part in the colder weather. There are newspapers available in a small display if you fancy a read while enjoying your drink.

Part of a chain of restaurants found in a number of cities in the Uk now.A good value bistro style French restaurant that is situated on Friar Gate near a number of bars and other restaurants. Parking is available on the streets nearby or in a small car park on the corner.
The atmosphere is friendly, busy and casual.The waiting on staff are efficient and helpful.
The food offered from a limited menu which changes quite frequently. There is usually a choice of one dish of chicken, fish, vegetarian beef/lamb and a couple of others.
They do a pre-theatre special price in the early evening and a lunch time special too.
Food is always tasty, fresh and there are plenty of freshly steamed seasonal vegetables to go with your meal. You will not go away hungry and the food is well cooked and served steamy hot to your table.

Tonic, not quite gin and tonic
Very good position along the main Friar gate road close to a number of bars,clubs and restaurants.
Not a lot of atmosphere. I would describe it as the sort of place you would go with colleagues after work or for a group of young people eating before a night out. It is usually very busy and quite loud so not the place for a romantic tete a tete.
The food is okay, nothing special but quite eatable. The menu is fairly ordinary and the presentation the same. Prices are average, not expensive but not a bargain either. It would not be a cheap meal out nor a memorable one as a dining experience.
Cheerful,loud and food alright.

Choice - my choice
This restaurant has very recently had a new Head chef and is known for its fine dining.
The menu has a very unusual take on tradition food. For example on the starter menu - Bubble & Squeak Cake (V) £5.50
Vegetarian Bubble & Squeak Cake topped with a Free Range Poached Egg and Tomato Ketchup Vinaigrette.

They pride themselves for using only the best and as often as possible, locally sourced ingredients.

Based in the area with the Showcase cinema, Bowling Alley and Bingo Hall this restaurant is clean and efficient.
The food is average to ordinary - the usual pasta, pizza and salads. My prawn caesar salad had so much sauce it was sickly , the lettuce could be wrung out and the prawns were few and minute.
The only reason we went is that it is convenient to eat before going to the cinema and I had a voucher for 50%off. I certainly wouldn't rush back. it is American style fast food for convenience rather than an eating out experience.
Having been unable to finish my salad because it was so awful, I decided to have some desert. This was okay but I certainly would not get excited about it.
I would say this is a 'family going to the cinema' restaurant or maybe young teenagers may enjoy it but it is not a memorable dining experience.

Old Orleans, pride Park Derby
This restaurant has its own big car park and is very easy to get to on the Pride park light industrial estate. A short walk from the station or the Pride Park Stadium as well as several service industries on the estate.
The restaurant is typical of the American family style of restaurants with the usual American style of service - 'Enjoy your meal' ' I'm .... your waitress for the night' etc.
The food is a little different in that it has a southern flare and offers crocodile meat in some dishes. There are a number of spicey cajun style dishes too as well as salads and other more usual dishes.
The drinks menu offers a variety of interesting cocktails if you fancy something unusual.
The prices are quite reasonable but not amazingly cheap. It is a good place to go with a crowd or a family but not for a quiet romantic meal or a gourmet meal.
