Worth a visit too.
This is a nice small venue with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, the staff seem to care about what they are selling and how they work but are equally relaxed and laid back. The menu is pretty good with lots of Italian style dishes on offer and most of the dishes are pretty good in their size, however some items are smaller than you would expect, it can be one of the places you look at your companions meals who has twice as much but paying the same price, my suggestion would be to chose 2 dishes and ask which one has the bigger portion if you are in need of being filled right up. Nicley located too near the waterfront this place is worth a visit.

Very good
This is a top notch out of town traditional pub to eat in, the lounge room which is mainly used for family’s, friends and couples to eat and drink is the best place to make home. The staff at the bar are really friendly and are always smiling and happy. The menu is pretty good and the prices are reasonable, there is plenty to chose from suiting all budgets with some offers on 2 dishes for around £6. The food turnaround is quick and the items I have tried always seem to be freshly cooked and hot. This pub does show football games and whilst most games are showed in the background, major sporting events can over run the venue so it may be worth missing a visit during a major game.

I think this KFC is OK but the food they serve is not that bad. This KFC is located amongst Plymouth’s night club scene so is generally located to serve this population in the evening which is when turnaround comes quick and efficient, although I wouldn’t take kids or youngsters during this time as most customers are pretty heavily intoxicated. During the day it’s a quiet KFC and as foot flow is quiet during this time there can sometimes be a bit of a wait for food, but in a plus as long as you are happy to wait you will get fresh food nice. The only other point is this KFC is take a way only and has no seats or place to eat.

A typical weather spoons pub which looks nicely decorated and cared for . Prices for drinks are pretty good and there are always plenty of drinks offers on, although drinks like coffee etc are pretty basic. The food is basic and the portions are OK but everything I have had here has always been cooked correctly and presented with care but the prices are pretty good for what you get really. One word of warning, whilst this place welcomes children, on a hot sunny day it seems to turn from a friendly family tourist type location to a bit of a large lout venue as its located right on the waterfront of Torquay, so if you are taking kids have a wonder in first and check out what is going on.

Prices for drinks are pretty good and there are always plenty of drinks offers on, although drinks like coffee etc are pretty basic. The food is typical cooked, frozen, reheated and sits under a heating lamp. Most of the food I have had here is barely warm, is pretty dry and pretty tasteless, even the staff sometimes appear to be a bit embarrsed to be serving it. Plymouth has plenty of pubs and city centre eating places and everyone of them is worth visiting than this one, which is a shame as the venue is big, airy and well located.

Jakes is located right in the middle of the city centre and offers good quality old school café style food like traditional English Breakfasts (some served all day) sandwiches, baguettes, chips and something etc etc. The venue is pretty small downstairs but there is plenty of space upstairs to sit which is well hidden as it looks like you have to walk thru the kitchen to get there. The food is cooked in a open style kitchen and sometimes there is a short wait to get what you want but that is because it is cooked fresh from scratch. The staff seem to really care about the service and the food they are giving so if you are in town and want some quick stop café style food this is the place to go.

Good food!
This is well worth a visit for good value for money, the carvery whilst normally busy is not one of those you need to wait ages for a table and ages in the queue to get your food. The staff are friendly and polite and the service is quite refreshing for a carvery venue in my opinon. The food is always very well cooked and it hard to try and not to be tempted to really over fill your food (check out the Yorkshire puddings, there massive!, The prices are very reasonable and sometimes there are offers in the local and national newspapers where you can get 2 courses for 2 people for £6.

Fantastic - worth a visit
I love this place and would recommend it to anyone in the area, The décor inside is good with a modern traditional wooden feel and a bright open kitchen so you can see the food being made, quite often I have sat right by the kitchen and everything I saw being cooked was fresh and was done so with care and effort. The staff are friendly and polite and this seems to be a single owned business they seem to care more about what they are doing and offering. The bacon and cheese burger topped with a fried egg is worth trying, its massive and comes with a giant bowl of chips – quite a few times this has beaten me and its really well priced. Reservations are possible here so get here early if you want to eat here or be prepared to wait in the bar where you have to keep an eye on the tables as there is no queuing system.

All good!
Have never really had a bad experince in this Pizza express, the venue is located just outside the heart of the main city centre and is always clean and tidy. The service is pretty good and the team are bubbly and friendly but I agree with the other poster about the venue sometimes being under staffed but this does happen in places like this. The food is good, if you are large pizza eater you will find you should get a starter and possibly a side to share - I cant remember the name of the pizza I have but it has an egg in the middle and tastes great. It is worth a visit but not really a kids place in my opion they are better off in Pizza Hut

Good times!
I am a fan of Old Orleans in Plymouth and always have been. The restaurant is one of those with loads of crazy rubbish on the walls and ceiling and has a pretty good atmosphere to it. The staff are friendly and polite and always seem happy to be helping and dealing with you. The menu has loads to chose from, including burgers, fajitas, steak and fish dishes – the only thing I would say is look out for some of the odd sauces they add to some dishes – if your not sure on the sauce in the description ask for it on the side. A burger I had once had awful relish in it!. Portions are pretty food and the prices are as expected and in line with most places.
