Great Sunday lunch
I've been eating Sunday lunch here ever since I moved into the area 12 months ago.

There is a carvery on offer, but not of the 1980's type you would expect; with tired and overcooked meat and veg. The Pig and Whistle has locally sourced, well cooked joints of meat, a good selection of seasonal vegetables and crisp roast potatoes.

The meal is around £10 for a good portion of meat and as much of the vegetables as you think you can eat.

My only negative comment is that the place lacks a little atmosphere and I wouldn't come here for drinks in the evening.

Great if you can get past the stage of waiting on the stairs. Like one of the other reviewers it was third time lucky for me.

I think the best plan is to be organised; pop in at 6.30 p.m. before meeting friends and get on the list for a table at 8.
