If you prefer independent, or foreign films to the latest blockbuster then this is the place for you! Inside is like what I consider to be the classic old style cinema. They have limited screens, and the screen rooms are not that big, but depending on the films on show they will be sold out! They also have a good cafe, with reasonable priced food.

Good central loaction, with frequent buses to and from the area. The cinema itself is clean and tidy and well presented. All the latests films available, staff always been helpful. Food over priced - but Ive not come across a cinema yet where that has not been the case. Womens toilets though clean smell awful so have always found them off putting to visit.

Black medicine is quite a chilled out almost hippy kinda place, but they do great coffee and even better smoothies! Great food, and a great range. Only downside is it can be quite studenty

Amazing
My bf treated me to a night here for my 30th birthday after longing to stay there since I first clapped eyes on it, and it didnt disappoint. Stylish glamour as you would expect from a five star hotel. We had stunning views over to the castle, luxury bath robes to lounge around in, beautiful Italian bath products. An expensive treat but well worth it.

Refurb!
The Rutland has recently had a refurbishment - June 08 was the reopening - and it has gone up market and swanky - and is fab! Gone are the days of the traditional pub menu and feel. There is a great new menu on offer with a lot of local produce, and stylish meals. Staff were falling over themself to help and cater to what we wanted. We stopped by for lunch and were highly impressed, cant wait to get back.

Peckhams have branched out and also have a downstairs restaurant now. They serve excellent breakfasts, lunches and dinners - have shamingly sampled all three, and have a good range for all tastes - including veggie. Staff are always polite and friendly, but menu - unless they have already done so, could do with a freshen up.

Another one of my favorite Italians in Edinburgh. The food range is great - I personally usually go for their pastas as they are so tasty! The staff are brilliant and make you feel like you are part of their big Italian family. Highly recommended.
