It's very interesting to note that ALL Garfunkels establisments in London get 4 Stars from enviromental health with even one receiving 5! Reason enough to dine there. Service was excellent and food was very good and reasonably priced. I've found their American Hot Pizza the best choice for me. The staff at this branch were particularly nice.

The Peking Duck is probably the best thing on the menu here. The chicken in chilli was not what I expected. It was as if they had cooked the chicken then covered it in chilli sauce. The chicken itself was pretty much tasteless.
The environmental health authority in Oct 2007 gave them one star and a poor rating for compliance so not a place I can recommend until an update is received. A quick peek into the kitchen downstairs pretty much says it all. Take a look!

Service was fast and the dining area was clean. Good staff. Milkshakes are a killer and feels like a complete meal in itself. I had the regular burger which was ok, nothing special tho, a slab of meat between a bun with one slice of tomato and some lettuce with onion on top. Some burgers are special if they use various spices to give it a kick but this was your run of the mill burger and tasted so. I did enjoy it but I was really hungry anyway. All in all, Milkshakes are the best.
The one thing I absolutely HATE with ANY restaurant is the 12.5% added service to your bill! Seeing people leaving £2 or £3 tip tells you they never read their bills. They ended up leaving 24% tip!!!!

One of the hidden Gems in Leytonstone. Family run and excellent food. Decor plain and simple, atmosphere with plenty of regulars which is a good sign. One of the FEW restaurants in Leytonstone that has a GOOD rating from environmental health. Sadly no alcohol licence but you can BYOB. Also, no credit cards accepted so take your cash.

This is another little Gem in Leytonstone. The food was very good. Staff friendly and attentive and also have a licence to serve alcohol. Decor typical of a Thai restaurant. Credit cards accepted. I've knocked a star off because their last rating on the environmental health site only gives them a "broadly compliant" 2 star rating. That needs to be improved but overall experience was good.

It's worthy to note that this restaurant has achieved an outstanding 4 STARS (very good) from the environmental health department. Reason enough to go there! However, the food really is outstanding. Decor is very plain and simple but don't let this detract from the quality of the food which everytime I've eaten there is consistently good. No alcohol licence but BYOB. Cash only too. Very small so get there early if you want a table. Very rarely does any restaurant get five stars but this one deserves it.

The food wasn't bad but after checking them out with environmental health I don't think I'll be dining there again in the near future.
ZERO stars as rated in July 08. To quote, "A general failure to comply with legal requirements. Little or no appreciation of food safety. Major effort required"

Until places like this clean their act up and stop putting the publics health at risk, I'd advise checking any restaurant out before eating there.
