I'm a huge fan of Indian cuisine, but living in Italy is not so simple to find very good places... So, every time I'm in London I try to look for some good Indian food.
And Nutmeg was outstanding!
First of all, the restaurant is very nice, modern furniture, nothing fake "ethnic" or usual Indian restaurant. So this is a plus!
Then the food!
Each sauce or chutney that come to you table is home made! And you can taste the difference!
The the menu is large and has many interesting dishes, as an himalanian pot rice, cover with chapati, or the chef's currys, with their own blend of spices...
And the naan too is very good, tasty, with a nice tender crust...
A wonderful experience!
And for summer times, they have a nice garden too!

It's nice, but as everybody in Italy said marvellous things about it, I thought I could find amazing food. Instead I think it was average, not bad, but not fantastic, and you sure can get better value at a normal Chinese or Japanese restaurant...
It was very crowed, so the service was quite slow. The complementary green tea is good, but very small, instead the dishes are of mastodontic proportions! Even too much! I had number 78 on the menu and I couldn't finish it!

A good thai
Trying to calm a sudden urge of Thai food, I looked if there was one near Victoria, and find this.
I took the Pad Thai and it was delicious. The portion was absolutely satisfying and the stuff very friendly.
I took a look at the a la carte menu and I think is a bit expensive, but may be worth it. There are several set menu form 17 to more then 25 £. The pad thai was, for me, a bit over priced (6.50 £ for the praw version).
It is anyway a good place to go!

wandering around Chelsea I found this place, just by chance!
I always wanted to try Pho, expecially after all the praising words Anthony Bourdain wrote about it in his books!
This warm, tasty soup is the perfect light and quick meal. The noodle bar is very simple, but the staff is friendly. During summer and warm period, they at least 12 seats available in their garden

A very good choice
Being used to the Japanese restaurants in Italy (where you'll find just sushi and nothing more), Abeno was a pleasant surprise! The lunch menu I had was wonderful: miso soup, the day specials and hokonomi-yaki.
The okonomi-yake was made just in front of me by a friendly and nice Japanese girl and it tasted like heaven.
It was a light, very good and quick lunch!

Don't let yourself to be fooled around by all the camera you'll see in the window display. When you'll go inside you'll find the camera shop AND the Camera cafe!
Just outside the British Museum, is a cool, friendly and cosy spot if you are looking for a wifi connection (thought not free, it will cost you only 1£ for the whole day with your own laptop).
I had an awesome freshly squeezed apple and orange juice.
The cafè guy is very nice, and has an excellent taste in music (if you like Nirvana!).

Don Alfonso 1890 is an high quality, Michelin starred restaurant on the Sorrento peninsula, between the Naples gulf and the Salerno Gulf.
In the kitchen you'll find Ernesto Iaccarino, the charming and talented son of the original Don Alfonso. Maurizio, the sommelier, will help you choose among their wonderful cellar the perfect wine to pare your food, proposing unusual matching, as a Moscato (sweet Italian wine) with a risotto cooked in almond milk: an experience I really recommend.
The kitchen is astonishing, with its coloured tiles, and ask for a visit to the cellars, dig in tuff and going underground for more then 30 meters.
The dining experience will be fantastic: let Ernesto guide you in a discovery of regional and local flavours, perfectly cooked and incredibly matched, like little octopus with a local cheese cream.

It's the gastronomical temple of Milan, but has nothing to do with Fauchon in Paris or Fortnum&Mason in London. It's very expensive and cheeses and meat you find there can be found everywhere else for less Euro. They tend to be quite snob and the patisserie is absolutely over priced (and they make poor copies of Pierre Herm patisserie). Coffee and tea selections are very good for Italy, though. Ambience is too posh and they are not very friendly.
If you have a chance to take a look to the kitchen you'll be astonished by the sparkling view of the counters and the immensity of the space!
The cellar is quite big, with a good selection of Italian and international wines, but over priced

The Victoria bar is an historical place for aperitivi (the Milan trend to eat at buffets and drink, just leaving the office around 7pm), in the centre of the city, near Piazza Duomo.
The cocktail are good and well made, the buffet is not so bad and for once not so oily, and on the table you'll always find a bowl of freshly popped pop corns. Hanging there you'll find all the young single blue collars of Milan. nd that's the main reason of my poor review! But if you are interested in them, you know where to find them!
